MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

Heck, I figure that if it rains, I'll just put on a bathing suit and go as a bathing beauty for my costume! :thumbsup2 (Although we may be stretching it on the "beauty" part! :rotfl:)

This made me laugh so hard! I think it's a great idea!!!:rotfl2:

DH and I finally decided on our costumes and got them through the mail. I'm going to be Snow White, and he is going to be Grumpy (yes, my 6'4'' husband is going to be a dwarf hehehehe). :thumbsup2

I sure was trying!! 17 days until we go to Dallas to beat BYU!!:cheer2:

I can't believe it's already football season. Crazy!

If it rains, I'll have to be Curly Sue because my hair will curl if it even looks like rain.

Last year we were @ mk for a afternoon parade and we were talking to a cm while waiting for it to start. The night we had tickets it was forcasted to rain. anyway, she said that when it rains the cm';s go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time. No rain for us but the cm's were great!

It rained when we were at MVMCP a couple years ago. We put on ponchos and sloshed through the rain until it stopped. We also did a little shopping. After it stopped, we went on our merry way. The biggest downside was that my hair went straight which looked BAD on the pictures. :rotfl: It did help keep the crowds down a little, (not that they are bad in early Dec).

Thank you for all the information. I can't for the life of me find the ticket prices. Does anyone have them?
Thank you.

I tried reading through the whole thread but gave up. Does anyone know if you can still get a free stroller for the event this year?

I also would like to know about the free stroller. I hope it is still offered. We used this a few years back.

I went last year for the first time and am going again this year! I am so excited!

Thanks for all the great tips! We will be there Sept 29th! DH and I will be dressed as Mr and Mrs Incredible with DS (20 months) as Jack-Jack and DD's dressed as princesses from BBB earlier in the week. Can't wait!!

My DH and I will be there on September 29th, too! After seeing Mickey's Magical Christmas Party last year in November, can't wait to come to this party! Thanks for all of the tips. I didn't realize we could get in as early as 4:00 p.m. Just two adults, almost seniors (56 and 61) who love Halloween and are looking forward to all the festivities. I don't think we will be dressing up but who knows.

I may decide to to the NMSSHP the Friday before Labor Day.
If I decide the Thursday prior or Friday morning, what is the least painful way to purchase tickets without waiting on line at the MK?
Can I purchase at any Disney hotel? If I purchase other than MK, do I still have to go to MK to pick up my tickets (not the wristband, but the actual tickets?).
Thank you.

I know this is a dumb question (and has probably been answered already somewhere within this thread!), but where we do we get our wristbands? Our party tickets came in the mail this week.

Thanks!

not a dumb question

Most times you get them as you enter the park. I guess it depends when you are entering.

From 4:30 on, its has been my experience to get them as you enter the turnsile (look for the welcome sign). Say you are in MK for the day you can go to town hall or walk back to the turnsiles and look for a cm holding the welcome party sign and get wristbands but make sure you are ready to show your party ticket

Thanks. We won't be at the park that day -- we'll be driving down that day and plan to get checked in at the hotel and then be at MK at 4:00. The "tickets" they sent me are plastic cards that are brightly colored and have a Disney character on them...so I just give those tickets to a CM holding a sign at the turnstiles and they'll give us our wristbands?

Those hard tickets will get you into the turnstiles...and if I recall correctly you will get your wristband by someone just after that. It might be after you get through security I am not sure...and they will then also give you a treat bag to use.

Yes those are the tickets.
you use them to get through the turnsile like your regular disney passes. once you walk through the turnsile SOME CM's with wristbands will ask you to see it (you don't have to give it to them). they just want to make sure YOU belong to the party and not just someone trying to grab a wristband.

I never put my "ticket" away until I have my wristband. Most CM's pay attention to who's coming in. I have been asked to see the "ticket" and then again I have not been asked. I guess it depends on how busy the CM is.

Regarding the wristbands, make sure the CM doesn't make it too tight like mine was last year. It may sound trivial but it bothered my wrist and I kept tugging on it all night. Of course I was too busy having fun to do anything about it...but this year I'll pay closer attention when they attach it. Duh.
