MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

Glad to hear we're not the only crazy people going to the party on Halloween night!

We'll be there too! Right now I'm planning on dressing as Belle in her blue town outfit and my boyfriend will be dressed as Gaston.

Love all the tips so far! :cool1:

My family wouldn't go for a costume theme (well actually it was more our 18 year old wouldn't go for the theme ...) so we will be quite a mixture - me - Mary Poppins, DH - Obiwan from Star Wars, DD18 - Pocahontis, DD7 - Cinderella or Queen Narissa from Enchanted, DD4 - Sleeping Beauty, DS & BIL - Sally & Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas.

That sounds cute! I actually suggested first to my boyfriend that he dress as Obi-Wan, because he's a huge Star Wars fan. But when he heard I wanted to go as Belle, he broke out his Gaston impression immediately and started doing push-ups to get ready. My younger sister will be with us, but she hasn't chosen a costume yet.

Aww...someone beat me to the Headless Horseman photo. But I will post mine anyways ;)

I used a Nikon D40 on the automatic setting (probably not the best setting, but DH and I just left it there for the trip!).

Below that is a photo of us in our costumes from last year. This year is a surprise trip for DD. I bought her a Sharpay costume (she loves HSM). DH is going as Troy and I am going as the cheerleader.

We are going to MNSSHP on Sept. 4. I have booked the pirates league for 5:30 pm. We wanted to eat in MK at Tony's for dinner. The only time we could get for Tonys was 5pm. Is 30 minutes enough time to eat at Tonys and make it over to Pirates League?

Of course you never know about when you'll actually be seated with ADR's, but Tony's is incredibly quick with the food. We figured they must have every entree already cooked in the kitchen (since the selections aren't too many). We were in and out of there in about 30 minutes (4 of us).

With that said though, 30 minutes is probably way too short because of the travel time and not knowing if you'll actually be seated at 5.

I was thinking about being Tinkerbell for MNSSHP, but I'm not really sure how I will be able to get the wings down there without busting them. We are flying and DH and I do carry on only (we use bookbags). So, I was wondering - does anyone know if some where in the MK sells wings? Perhaps the Tinkerbell's treasure store? I was thinking about just leaving the wings that come with the costume at home and just buying some there. Thanks!!

We carried some wings in for my daughter's tink costume for our visit to Pixie Hollow. By the time we got back there, they kind of squished. So I bought some new ones right there on our way in, in the Toontown Hall of Fame. I don't know if they would fit an adult though.......

Thanks for the info! I figured they would only sell childrens, but I figure I could at least try it - I can still wear some kids' size shirts, so maybe there is a chance! :rotfl:

Are they the ones with elastic? If that didn't fit, I could also safety pin it to the back of the costume probably...

Anyway, thanks again!

Yes, they had elastic that slips over the arms. Have fun!

I just purchased our MNSSHP for October 25th!

But I have a question...

Both kids have an appointment at the Pirates League at 3:15PM (it was the latest we could get), will we be allowed into the park with our MNSSHP tickets that early?

Thanks!

Nope. They are very stict about the 4:00p entry. It's already 3 extra hours with the party ticket. :thumbsup2

Agreed. The party doesn't start until 7:00. They have always allowed everyone in at 4:00 with the party ticket, but they do hold you outside the turnstiles until after 4:00. They do not let anyone in any earlier than that.

Sorry, you'll either need to change the time of your reservation, or use a day off your regular tickets to get in early. I hope you can work something out. :goodvibes

LOVE this thread -- I'm hoping to take my girls and go this year on October 9 -- do you think that night will sell out early? How soon should I get our tickets?

Oh no... :sad2: I just purchased the tickets and they're not refundable! I'm not going to pay twice to get into the park the same day! :scared1: What am I going to do now?

If you're on a multi-day ticket, I'm thinking you can go to guest relations and add an extra day for around $3.....i

Where it gets expensive is if you didn't already buy a 4 day ticket. I think that's the point where it gets cheap like that...

Good luck!
