MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

I'm thinking about going. It's just me and another adult, both in our mid 20s. We have no interest in dressing up or getting pictures with characters, but the parade, fireworks, short lines for rides, and getting candy sounds like a lot of fun. What is everyone's strategy for getting candy? I want to ride rides, so should I just put the candy off until the last hour?

It's just me and my husband and we are in our Mid 30's and love it...no dressing up for us! Getting candy was fun...I would suggest holding off until later in the evening especially if you're gonna go on the rides! You don't want to lug a bag of candy on a ride! :scared1:

Can anyone list where the photopass photographers will be on MNSSHP? Will there be photopass photographers at the meet and greet with the vllians ater their show?

It's on your right as soon as you cross over the bridge to Adventureland. You enter the room I referred to through doors that are adjacent to the little dining area. There are castmembers stationed there inviting people in, and there is a small sign identifying the area.

And, one of these days, you really need to try the Dole Whip.

I believe this is where I met Jack Sparrow at the Pirate and Princess Party last year. There were only two people in front of us for him too!

No, Villian's meet and greet will not have photopass photographers.

Most meet and greets will, just not the villians. It's too crazy and quick in front of the castle to have a photographer for each villian after the show.

There were a ton of photpass photographers near the villains last year...the handlers kept the lines moving so people didn't suck up too much of their time.

Good for you! I've been to 4 parties and multiple villains shows at each party and I didn't see any photopass photographers. It is hard to get a decent photo since it is so dark. I would love to have the photopass people take one too.

We will be attending the September 11th Party. Just DH and myself, we can hardly wait. This will be our first one and I am getting very excited!!! :smickey: We just don't know if we are going to dress up or not. We never have before. I suppose that there is a first time for everything....

do tickets REALLY sell out quickly? seems Disney makes it like a "hurry and buy!" thing... but is it really true? Wanted to get tix for the sunday, oct 18th party and wasnt planning on getting them til we arrived on the 15th. I figure a sunday party i shouldnt worry... should i?

Here's two tips for you:

1. Candy- Do not waste time early in the party waiting on lines for candy. Towards the end of the party, the lines disappear, and the castmembers give out candy by the handfuls. They actually will try to fill your candy bag to the top if you let them.

2. Photo Op- There is a large room next to the Dole Whip stand that is opened up for the party. For the past couple of years at least, they have had Tarzan (my teen DD's are big fans) and some other characters in there. Hardly anyone goes in there. As you exit, they give you special candy. The year before last, it was full-sized bag of Hershey's Kissables candy. Last year it was something less impressive, but it was different from the candy being distributed elsewhere.

Where exactly is the Dole whip stand? I have no clue:rolleyes1

Great thread.

Isn't anyone going on September 22nd? I've never been but want to do something special for the kids. BUT...my kids are 19, 17, and 11...lol. Do teens have a good time too?

I'm a little confused. If everyone "else" is allowed to stay in the park until 7pm, how are the decorations, and lights, and all the "magic" any different for the party than it is for everyone there that day?

Some of the decorations are there during the day, but You'd be surprised at the ammount of Halloween "Magic" That can "Pop Up" within a moments notice...it transforms before you know what's going on. :wizard:

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're on Aloha Isle just across the bridge over into Adventureland from Main Street.

PS: I see in your signature we're gonna be on vacation the same time! We're at ASMu and are going to the party on 9/15! Can't wait! :cool1:

The fireworks show is not much different from the several you'll already see on your trip, use this time to make up some serious ground while everyone else is watching fireworks.

We were at the MNSSHP in 9/08 & had the most awesome time! Everything was so awesome & so different from the regular stuff going on @ MK. The fireworks are the best ones @ WDW, IMO. A lot of reviewers say that the whole party is worth the extra cost just for the parade & fireworks, which are both totally amazing! Don't miss the fireworks!!! :flower3:

We're going on 9/22 ~ having dinner at Crystal Palace @ 4:30pm ~ absolutely cannot wait!!

Hello and thanks for the awesome thread! I have a question. I have pre-ordered the photopass cd. Will I be allowed to put pictures from the party on it as well, or must I order those pictures seperately?:confused3 Thanks for your help!

You can add them to the photopass CD. If you want, you can also get a discount on printed photos with the Halloween Photopass CD-I didn't use that part so I don't recall the % off.
