MNSSHP Sept 21

I was thinking like Shubunk, that the characters seem to be repeats again, just like last year. In the "olden" days at MNSSHP (Like back in 2003-2005  ), I remember finding just awesome assortments of unusual characters out - Thumper, Sora, Goliath the Gargoyle, Scrooge, Big Bad Wolf, The Snow White Witch, Zowie, Rolie Polie Olie, and Stromboli comes to mind. Nowadays it seems to just predictably repeat itself, and not many surprises at all.

Even so, I was sort of hoping to hear Barbossa was out meeting (but he may be just parade), or maybe Darby the new Pooh character. Or how about getting Handy Manny out in ToonTown? Wonder if Tarzan and Jane reappeared this year. There's all sorts of things Disney could do, but it seems nothing very random happens anymore at MNSSHP. Oh well - hope I'm wrong!

Sadly I am not going this year, but next year I hope to return! :)

From reading another thread on this board, it looks like the Capt. Jack meet and greet thing is only during the day from 10a-6p. I heard the last day was Sept 29. I hope he's there b/c that's the day I get there.

It sounds like everyone at the party had a good time. We go on October 8 and we can't wait. Very anxious to see the parade and the fireworks.

I am thinking the same thing as you all, I had my hopes set really high because of things I read and now it seems it is the same characters that have been out, don't get me wrong, I will enjoy seeing all the Dwarfs together, and hopefully Walrus and Bullseye and some of the Villians but it just seems like such a shame.

I have not heard if Tarzan and Jane were out, I was hoping to catch them too, also was hoping to catch Walrus, hoping at least these ones are out and about. Any word???

But how much trouble would it be to at least put Handy Manny down by the TT Sign during the parties, I don't get it.........

We just returned at midnight from our 9 day trip. We attended the MNSSHP on the 21st. I was dressed a Minnie Mouse, DH Pirate, DD1 Alice, DS Pirate, DD2 Cinderella, and DD3 Minnie Mouse. We had a very good time, but it was crowded (not jam packed, but definetly not light crowds). The parade and the fireworks were awesome. One of the pirates in the parade gave my youngest daughter a "gold" coin. She was very excited. The character lines were very, very long. The line for a picture in front of Cinderella's coach was the longest. We finally went back over there at about 11:00, when the second parade was over and the line was still very long. We went to get on Peter Pan's ride and the wait was 25 minutes at 11:15 p.m. So we went on Small World with no wait. After that we went ahead and got in line for the coach picture. It was 12:03 when we got out of the line (so much for the coach turning back into a pumpkin after midnight!). Since my oldest daughter was dressed as Alice, we really wanted to get all of the Wonderland characters. We only got Mr. Walrus, Queen of Hearts, Cards and Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. We really wanted Alice, Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit, but we missed them both times we went over there. As I said, we had a very good time at the party, but that will probably be our one and only MNSSHP. The September crowds and sweltering heat of the nine days we were there were just too much.

Also, did anyone else notice that not very many people dressed up for the 21st party date? It seemed that we were in the very small majority that did dress up. My husband thought it was because of the early date we attended and said that probably a lot more people dress up on the October dates.

I actually thought there were a lot of people dressed up for it being september! I was surprised at how many adults dressed up.

Glad to hear Mr. Walrus was out, I sure hope to catch him when I am there. :)

Was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad open? I noticed that it is not listed on the MNSSHP guidemap.

We were there on the 21st, we had a wonderful time! I thought alot of people were dressed up, alot of pirates both boys and girls!!!! Yes, Thunder Mountain was open. We had arrived in Orlando on the 14th... And those poor people that went to MNSSHP on that night... I have never seen rain like that before.... :)

We were there on the 21st as well and had a blast. We walked onto alot of rides with no wait at all. the candy lines were not bad at all! The parade and fireworks awesome. My only dissappointment were the characters!! There were very little out and no unusual ones. the only time I saw a villian was the villian show at the castle stage (by the way very lame and total waste of time!!!) and in the parade! I too was suprised that there werent more people in costume. To tell the truth though if I had to do it over again I wouldnt have put my own children in costume either maybe just some cute tees or something. They were miserable. It was hot and they said the costumes were itchy so about two hours inot the party I let them change (brought extra clothes just in case)

We were there as well, and it is funny to read what others thought. I, like Princess Tiffany, thought it was very crowded. Peter Pan, Pooh and Laugh Floor all had 20-40 minute waits. BUT...I had a wonderful time and my favorite part was when the headless horseman rode out before the parade started! That was awesome!!!

I have been to MVMCP and now MNSSHP, and I loved them both! The Christmas party was my favorite, though. No lines, it was cooler, and hot cocoa and cookies while walking down main street with the snow falling was just amazing!

Did anyone book for next year?

We went for the 1st time, and had a great time. Dont get me wrong...but it was sort of like going to the MK on a fall day, just in costume---and not that many were dressed up (maybe not close enough to Halloween??) The lines for the rides were very short, which was great, but the paths through the park were pretty crowded, and somewhat difficult to navigate (due to the crowds), especially with little ones in strollers. I was surprised that there weren't more Halloween/Disney type events going on....or maybe we just couldn't find them.:confused3 Like the other posters, we didn't see many characters, except Snow White, and her crew. We had a great time, but for us, it was mostly a great opportunity to hit the rides, without such long lines:banana: Not too much candy passed out...but that's ok. All in all, a nice time.

We were there on the 21st. This was our first time for the Halloween Party.
It looked crowded up until the 1st parade and fireworks, after that the park emptied out.
We didn't notice many characters out maybe if we looked for them we could have found them. All of the rides were walk ons for us we did most of them during the first parade. In the beginning, they were only giving out 1 or 2 pieces of candy. By the end we were getting double fists full of candy.
It was the best fireworks display we have ever seen.
We went to get on Peter Pan's ride after the fireworks and the fire alarm went off and they had to close the ride down and handed us fast passes that were good until the 30th of this month.
We saw a good amount of people dressed. When the second parade was over and the crowd followed out you could see all of the people who came dressed. There was quite a few.
I would highly recommend this event.

Where is Cinderella's coach for the MNSSHP pictures? What is the best time to get this picture taken? Does it need to be dark so the ghost will show up?

Also, where can you find Snow White and the dwarfs for pictures?

Thanks so much.

Cinderella's Coach is in the stroller parking lot behind Small world. There was no good time to get the picture taken. We went when we got there - the line was long. We went about 9:00 before the fireworkds - it was long. We went at 11:30 - the line was still long, but I just had to have our picture in front of the coach so we stood in line from 11:35 until 12:03 and had our picture taken. Snow White is usually near the Snow White Ride or at the Dance Party in front of Ariel's Grotto.

We got in line for cinderellas carriage at about 7:15 and the line was not long at all so I would suggest maybe doing this first!:thumbsup2

Hubby and I were there on the 21st. We were dressed as pirates (see signature). It was pretty warm that night but luckily no rain. There were several dressed up although we don't have anything to compare it to as this was our first MNSSHP.

We had a good time and am looking forward to next year.pirate:

Yep, the only lines were those for characters which don't interest us that much anyway. I was worried about crowds because we had to pay gate prices but it was lovely!
