MNSSHP or California Grill?

I honestly had no idea where to post this. Im hoping it is okay here since I'm looking for opinions from parents.

We are traveling in September with our nearly 3 year old son and nearly 1 year old twin daughters. Three grandparents are coming along, so we have trusted babysitters. DH and I are really looking forward to a night out by ourselves. Normally we'd do a EMH night, but those nights aren't working with our schedule.

So, right now I'm considering either MNSSHP or dinner at California Grill during the HalloWishes fireworks. The price is roughly the same. We've never been to a ticketed event before and haven't seen any (recent) fireworks other than Wishes. This California Grill ADR would be our only sit down with the exception of a Chef Mickey breakfast with the entire family.

Which would you choose?

MNSSHP with out a second hesitation. Cool shows, special parades, fireworks, just overall, a great time.

Another nod of agreement for MNSSHP. It's an incredible time and not only will you be able to take in the parade and fireworks, most of the attractions will be walk on as well. To me, it's the perfect way to spend an evening!

MNSSHP!! Dinner is great but you get the park, parades, items to buy, characters and favorites dressed in their halloween costume. Beats just dinner and fireworks from afar.

Which do th to of you find mor fun? Going to theme park without children or having a nice meal in a restaurant surrounded by everyone else's children? Because ll of us have done it before - went to dinner without our children and talked about the table with the children doing the same stuff ours would normally do with us.

Personally, I would pick MNSSHP. DW and I Disneymooned before children though. MNSSHP is really fun. We have been to three parties, and our dds would be mad if we didn't take them to it.

I guess I feel a little bad for not taking DS with us. I considered having him come early in the night for a few things and then having a grandparent pick him up, but that seems like a pain with the way MK transportation is. I don't think I can ask our parents to ride a bus to MK round trip like that from AoA. They could use our car, but then we'd have to take him all the way to the TTC.

He's not even 3 though, so we have plenty of time to do MNSSHP as a family. This won't be our last trip by any means...

This, except you can get into MK with just your MNSSHP ticket at 4pm, so it is actually 8 hours.

This is a hard choice, as we like both MNSSHP and California Grill. Ask yourself: Will you feel badly being at MNSSHP without your son? There are so many kids there, in costume, or families in costumes, trick-or-treating, having a wonderful time. Will you wish he was with you to enjoy MNSSHP? Will you be spending a day or two at MK anyhow? Also... how often do you and DH get "date night?" Maybe you should take advantage of your built-in babysitters to have an amazing, upscale dinner date with DH. California Grill is a wonderful restaurant, and being there for the fireworks is incredible! Try to get a reservation for about 15-30 mins before the show starts. This will give you time to peruse the menu and order before taking a glass of wine outside with you for the fireworks. It's so cool!!!

Personally, I think I'd choose a long, leisurely, romantic dinner with fireworks for DH and myself... wishing I was there now...
