MNSSHP & MK fireworks

We will be at Disney during the last week of October, and weren't planning to attend MNSSHP, BUT we want to see a night parade & fireworks at MK.

Is this possible on a night when MNSSHP isn't happening? Does the park stay open later on the other nights & show fireworks? Or, is the only way to see fireworks at MK by going to MNSSHP?

They will probably have the fireworks & parade on Saturday night plus one non-MNSSHP weekday night.

Would I be safe to assume using last year's opening/closing hours that the parade & fireworks ONLY happened on Sunday night (October 23-29). If it shows that the park closed at 6pm, that means no night parade & no fireworks, right?

I'm really bummed if this is the case. Was really looking forward to seeing the parade & fireworks in MK.

Any way to find out FOR SURE before I start making hotel reservations? (we can be there either the 23-27 or the 25-29th)
