We are going to be in Disney during the first party day bit I saw the cost and was shocked. Is Mickeys not so scary Halloween party worth the money? What exactly do they do and what extras if any do u get? $238 seems like a lot just for a parade.

Worth is relative but for us, yes it's worth the cost. You have exclusive access to the park beginning at 7pm, HalloWishes in fantastic, and Boo To You is my favorite Disney parade. They have trick-or-treat locations set up, rare characters are abundant, and the attractions are all walk-on if riding that night interests you. Overall, it's pretty cool seeing MK with a spooky vibe to it.

We've decided to do it our next trip after reading lots of reviews. It sounds like it's better for our family than the Christmas party too, which we also have never been to though we've been several times that season. The cost does add on quite a bit, but we figure it may be a one-time thing for us. We don't usually like to go that time of year due to the heat, but that's where our trip had to fall this time. I'm really excited about it! We don't do other special extra paid things, so this will be our one big splurge.

The party starts at 7pm, but you can enter at 4pm. So, that's a nice chunk of park time!

In our opinion, yes. It was SO fun. We loved all the decorations and different character meets. We had a lot of fun dressing up as a family (and my mom hair a lot of attention as Edna Mode - there were lots of Incredibles families but she was the only Edna!). The parade was awesome (though we got there late and didn't get a good viewing spot) and Hallowishes was AMAZING. It's just the overall atmosphere is REALLY cool. The castle changing to "evil" was spooky in a not too scary for littles way. We waited until the very, very end (11:30) to do trick-or-treat and just hit up the tomorrowland paths and got a TON of candy.

Yes worth it. I look at this way, a character meal for 1-2 hours or 6 hours in the park during a special event, with special characters. It happened my oldest DD was dresses at Snow white and got her picture taken with ALL the dwarfs at the same time... yah it was cool.

We won't be doing it in Sept. Its not something that really interests us, and one of the nights of MNSSHP, we'll be wining and dining at Cali Grill.

We think it is worth it. We do not go to a park that day until early entry at 4pm, which makes it cost similar to all the other park days. Smaller crowds, so many characters (many dressed up in costumes themselves) one of the best parades around, fun villain show, and trick or treating with your kids, where you also get candy. I don't think you can trick or treat anywhere else as an adult and not get scornful looks. We have had a blast each time we went.

I was skeptical last year about going but we absolutely loved it! It was one of my favorite memories of our trip!! Where else in the world can you dress up as an adult? ( I was Snow White) :).. The parade was the best I've ever seen... I say go for it! :)

That's a really good point. We are likely going in October and I was debating this as well. I may be sold on the Halloween party!

My understanding is that this is not true anymore.

We have small toddlers so for us is not worth it.

Worth every penny in our opinion. Just bought my October 2014 tickets this morning.

The parade and fireworks are the best that Disney does in our opinion and the lines for rides are walk on to very short, especially if you skip the first parade to ride and then watch the second parade with lower crowds as well. We will trick or treat if the lines are short, but otherwise just enjoy the atmosphere and the attractions.

It is a subjective thing though. No one that I know has ever been disappointed, but I have seen some posts where people didn't like it or it has been too busy for them.

If you had to choose between the Halloween party and the Christmas party which would you choose?

We are not buying a park hopper but we didn't plan on going to that park that day. Can we just buy the party tix and get in for just the party time?

Halloween...and I LOVE Christmas! We did the Christmas party 4 years ago but have done the Halloween Party every year since (sometimes twice a year). Next year I would like to do the Christmas Party instead just because I love Christmas so much. Have to talk the family into missing the Halloween Party though, that will be tough.

This is our first year attending so I hope it is worth it. We have tickets to the 10/31 Halloween Party and then the 11/7 Christmas Party. This will most likely be a one time thing for us so we decided to plan our trip so we can do both. :thumbsup2
