MNSSHP - Here's What Happens!

Just because I'm super excited about this year...here are some of my favorite shots from last year...

OK, so my question is, DH and I are thinking of buying tickets for Sept. 16 or 19th, but our kids are grown and will not be there with us. Do adults go to MNSSHP without children? Do you dress up? Anyone here gone without kids? Would love to hear about it!

We're going on the 16th, too. It's my mom and I, and we aren't kids. We went last year and LOVED it. We didn't dress up (I had a Tink Halloween shirt I bought the day before at MK, and we both had Halloween headbands on at the start of the night, but we took them off pretty quick, lol.) This year we are planning to dress up because it seems like more fun. You'll love it!!

Can anyone who went to the first party of 2008 help us out with this, and also the best strategy for meet and greets?

Thirding this question. This is what I really want to know, since I didn't get to meet any characters last year other than the Villains.

I don't think it will be that crowded, but there will be at least 8 of us there.

Parades: 8:15p and 10:30p

Fireworks: 9:30p

We are going the 23rd, its our second MNSSHP (we went last year our DD bday is Halloween so we took her there for bday I think this migh become a tradition).

I love all the photos and any guidance on characters is awesome.

Also does anyone know if Cindy's carriage is out (and if so starting at what time) so you can get your photo with it, we did that last year but the photopass picture never showed up in our account so I want to make sure we get one this year.

We went during the first parade, and hardly had any wait at all.

I love this thread! We are planning to go to MNSSHP but not until next year. However we are always planning and can't wait. This will be our first party.

Thank you Thank you Thank you for this thread. We annually go to Mickey's very merry christmas party and are going again this year, however, we have decided to attend next years (2009) MNSSHP. Our annual trip will be in October instead of December!. I like the idea of just going to one thread to have most of my questions answered.

Can anyone tell me what time the characters come out in costume and trick or treating begins? I know that you can get into the park at 4 and that official start time is 7. We have Liberty Tavern Character dining at 7:05 pm on the night we are attending the party. I was wondering if we'll be able to do any meet and greets or trick or treating before our dinner?

There are no party festivities happening before 7:00p. All party festivities will start after 7:00p.

Also, I would never ever eat at a sit down meal during the party. The party is too expensive and way too much fun, with so much to try and do that I'd make my meal end by 7:00p at the latest.

You probably won't be done till at least 8:15p if you're lucky and LTT will be a zoo.

This is what we'd planned to do and have an ADR for Crystal Palace at about 5PM the day of the party. I'm beginning to question even doing this, tho, because I'm afraid my 5yo may ruin her costume while she's eating. I'm thinking maybe just eat at the resort before we head over to MK for the party. But what time should we try to get there (assuming we cancel the dinner ADR)? We have regular park tix for that day so we could go whenever we like. Will there be a mad crush to get in at 7:00?

Well, it's a matter of preference and on how much time your 5 year old can handle but we always arrived between 4:00p and 5:30p, no later.

We do have the tradition of always eating in the park beforehand though. Then we're ready to go for the night.

If you do cancel then you can get some rides in before the festivities begin at 7:00p. Maybe do some rides that aren't open during the party or rides that are more popular during that time.

I figure with the 4:55 time I got, we should finish dinner about a half hour or so before the party begins. If we're gonna need to get to the park about that time to avoid the crowds arriving at 7, we'll probably end up eating dinner there anyway. So I think we'll just keep our ADR. I'll just have to figure out a way to protect DD's costume. Thanks again.

Here is what I am doing. we have an ADR for 5:15 the night of party I plan on just putting a tshirt of my 2 girls while they are eating to keep the costumes clean and after dinner just remove the tshirts. Hope that helps

Last year you could get the photo with the ghost at the doombuggie at HM any time, not just at the party.

It's a separate line for the HM photopass; you do not have to ride the ride to get the photo.

The Cinderella carriage is only out for the parties and the characters in their costumes. That's all I can think of.
