We are attending MNSSHP and staying at POR, can anyone advise if it would be easier to take a car or to get on a bus at the end of the night.

It will be the first time we attend MNSSHP and have acess to a car and didn't know which would be easier, the bus or monorail, or is it cheeky to park at a close resort hotel?

parking at a close resort hotel won't do any good (except for the contemporary) as you would need to ride the monorail all the same.

There will be huge lines for the monorail or for the ferry boat.
Last MNSSHP we did, we boarded the 3rd boat that left the pier after we were out of MK
Monorail lines were insane.
we exited the park at 12:10, took the boat to TTC, then the car which was parked real close (disabled parking bay) and we were back at POP at 1:30

Next time we might try to take the bus, but it will be more or less like a regular park exit time. If you've ever exited the park right after wishes you get the picture.
We tried once and it was something like 4 buses loading at the same time to get back to POP

Whatever way you go it's busy but taking the bus means you don't have the extra hassle of getting back to TTC and we ave found that they have a steady stream of buses at the end of the party.
Enjoy the party it's great fun

Is it an easy/quick walk to the contemporary as never done it and don't even know where to go but eating there earlier on so will already be parked there
Thanks :)

I wouldnt count on being able to park in a resort hotel.

Your only meant to park there if you are staying there or have an ADR. Even if you have an ADR i think your only meant to stay for 3hours.

It hasnt happened to me personally but i have read reports on here that security enforce this during expected busy times. I imagine a party would be one of those days.

We have got the bus back a few times and its not been too much of a problem, usually lots of extra buses etc.

There are plenty buses at the end of the night to get you back and they are not as crazy crowded as they are after a regular park closing at MK.

if you're a disney resort guest, you can park as long as you want to at any other resort, as long as you display your "home" hotel parking permit
sometimes they restrict access to non CR guests. So if OP wants to park there, she's got to be ready to turn around and still go park at TTC as she might be denied entry

or another solution would be to valet at the CR

@mummycat : the walk is rather nice. It's roughly 800yds (mapped it on google earth) From the parking lot, just follow the path to the monorail track, then the path runs under the track to MK. Fairly easy to find.

we always use the bus to get to the magic kingdom...

we use the car to get to the other 3 parks, but to MK we always use the bus since it takes you right to the entrance of the park.

at the end of the party there's no problem at all getting a bus back to the resort....we were staying at art of animation - i think we had to wait through two buses, but there were so many buses, we waited only a few minutes total...

True for most hotels but i thought that CR always restricted to 3 hours. Which is the same as posted on all ears -

They cover self parking under the "What about parking at other venues"

Unless its changed recently but It was certainly the case when we dined there last May. :)

Of course you can pay for Valet, i think its about $16 and theres no time restriction.

it hasn't changed, the rule of thumb is : no parking, or 3 hours for ADR, period.
The reality of things is not this strict, it's very hit or miss. it really depends on the time of year.

You'll find stories of guests who have been told it was ok to park all day at CR (I know I've been, but maybe due to my blue badge), and you might get stories of guests who got towed away.

Allears is correct in what they say. Because they need to cover for the general public and give a general rule (one size fits all, if you will)

But I must add that, if a guest drives up to the guard shack, with a costume on, and request parking, on a MNSSHP night ... I doubt they will be let through.
