Hi!
Just booked for a trip with my hubby Sept 30- Oct. 6 and was wondering about MNSSHP. Do couples/adults only groups attend this? Do the grownups dress up? I'd love to hear from any adult-only parties that have been.

BTW, we're 45 and 49 and haven't dressed up for Halloween since college.

Thanks,
Jennifer

We went Oct 6th this year. It was my sister(19), myself(32), and our mom(53) so we classify as all adults. We loved it!!!! No lines for attractions, trick or treating, characters- including ones you don't see anywhere else during the day such as Snow White AND the Dwarves, an awesome parade and a special Wishes. We can't go in 2006 but plan on going again in 2007. As a bonus, my sis will be 21 that year so it will put a different spin on Food and Wine Fest.

Jen- my neighbor apparently: I couldn't see the picture you took of the Bufflehead but can tell you that it is a one of the migratory birds that frequent this area. The restaurant on Hills Beach backs up onto Biddeford Pool and most of the Pool is part of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Since it mostly is just tidal swampland, the importance of it is the migration path for the birds.

Me, I live here, run and bike along the coast all the time(today's run was Hills Beach, the Pool, Fortune's Rocks, Granite Point, and Goose Rocks- all of which have RCNWR land) and the most common birds I see are sea gulls and Canadian Geese. Maybe it's just because because I care more about the Donald Duck family of birds than the real life ones and just don't pay attention. It was nice reading your trip report. Have you considering looking into DVC points? It can be a surprisingly cost effective way to support a Disney World addiction, especially long term.

Wow - thanks neighbor. Went to visit my brother when he lived in Ohio, we went to the Cincinnati Zoo and a crowd was gathered in the aviary. We went over to see what the commotion was about and a little girl said "Wow look at that bird. It's so exotic, I wonder where it comes from". It was a freakin' seagull!! lol

Thanks for the heads up about the DVC. I did look into it a while ago, but it didn't seem worth it to me. Got to many other options available to me.

Cheers! Ready for the snow?

WDW is a great place for the young at heart! DH & I went over Halloween & attended MNSSHP.

It was great! We weren't the only ones dressed up. Check out our trip report You guys will have a lot of fun! :wave2:

My DH and I went to our first MNSSHP this October and had a ball. We had dinner at LTT with the characters, did the trick or treating, parade, fireworks, we skipped the kiddie stuff like the dance party and hit the rides! We walked on to every single ride in the park!!! I dressed as a Care Bear, and hubby was the Crocodile Hunter...nothing too over the top, just enough of a costume to be fun (and homemade). Every single castmember commented on my Care Bear which really made me feel good!!! So go for it!!

Thanks for the reassurance and the photos! Now I just have to convince my husband!
