DH & I are going as Mr. & Mrs. Incredible. We didn't want to wear the whole costume, tights and all, so we are making them. I bought red & black ringer T-shirts from Old Navy & ironed on the Incredible logo. Bought black eye masks from the Factory Card Outlet & will wear black shorts. Easy & cool enough!
DD is going as Tink. She has the costume, shoes, & light up wings!
DH and I will be going as hippies, and DS will be our love child. Tie dye shirts, cut offs/ripped jeans, funky shades, DH will be wearing a dreadlocked wig...quick, easy, and cool!
Initially I tried to convince my dh to let us all dress up as crash test dummies and ask the CM's at MK where test track was. He did not want to invest that much money in costumes. So we decided to go as Mousekateers with the original shirts and mouse ears.
Then a few weeks ago we changed the plan and are now going as Super Sleuths from My friends Tigger and Pooh. We have already purchased the navy blue shirts and we are getting iron ons to print the logo with.
We need this vacation so bad after all the stress from Gustav and Ike. I plan on having a great time and trying to forget all the troubles of having to deal with an insurance company.
We'll be there on Oct 28th. We bought pirate Mickey shirts to wear on pirate night of our cruise (that we canceled ) so we are just going to wear those with pirate hats/jewelry/tattoos/eye patches with shorts. I think. I feel bad that the younger ones won't get to pick out a costume this year, but they'll be at Disney, they'll get over it, right?
DH and I made matching tee-shirts that say "YO HO" and stenciled pirates, treasure maps, and treasure chests on them. After hours of work he says "do you think yo ho, is appropriate for disney. Then I started to worry, I was only thinking of my favorite disney song. Do you think any of the CM's will censor us???? I hope not we leave in two days
I went to the first two MNSSHP this year dressed as Handy Manny. I was the only person I saw dressed as this. I kept on having people say "Look there is Handy!" It was great. I had a modified hat that looked like his with a "pencil" on the side and of course the green shirt and toolbelt with some of the tools. I think the people that got the most kick out of it were the cast members though! I went to get a photo with Minnie with my son and the Photopass person and Minnie loved it. I kept on hearing good things. A lot of Handy fans out there. If anyone saw me, or anyone else dressed as Handy (I think I was the only one) let me know -- just curious. My son went as Peter Pan with an awesome costume made by my DW. DW had a great Tinkerbell costume on she made and Nanna went as Minnie Mouse. It was a blast! Loved it both nights.
My DS4 is going to be Handy Manny on the 8th! He is so excited--he is proud that he has all his tools ready to go! If I can ask, what did you use for the pencil?
