MNSSHP costumes-what are you wearing?

We went to the Sept 9th party. I was going to put DH in a Dallas Cowboys jersey and I was going to go as an Indian (Cowboys and Indians.ha ha ha) but I couldn't find a costume I liked, so I had shirts made instead.

My shirt was too big since they were out of my size in orange, but it was still fun. CM's and the characters all commented on our shirts. My teenagers thought they were dumb, but they were at home with Grandma so who cares what they think!! ;)

So, as I said in a previous post, I am going as a go-go girl. I got my actual costume today. Ordered a handmade orange and brown paisley dress off ebay. Went to the mall and bought orange tights, white go-go boots, white headband, white bangle bracelet and big white earrings. I must say, I look very cute :goodvibes

My fiance is going as a chef. We went to a uniform shop and bought him a big white chef's hat, black and white pants and a black chef's coat. We will be there for MNSSHP on October 2nd, so if you see us, please say hi!

And just a word to the wise regarding dressing up as a Disney face character. Last year, I dressed as Snow White and thought that I would try to look as authentic as possible. Not a good idea. All night, I had small children pointing, whispering and shouting at me, "SNOW WHITE!!!" Parents were asking for photos and autographs (even after I said I wasn't the "real" Snow White). It was just a difficult night. Yes, there were plenty of people that said to me, "Neat costume!" But there were too many children that I think I upset :( Here's a pic of me as Snow White. (The hair is a wig. I have long blonde hair, not black hair.)

I was thinking of going as the Joker, purple/green suit and all, but my fiancee doesnt like the idea as she cant think of anything to compliment the Joker (she doesnt want to be Batgirl).
I was going to do the whole Joker makeup on my face but I saw this really eerie realistic Joker mask today.....can you wear a mask into the party?

I'm sorry, I know you just said that this was a bad idea, but I bought a new Snow White costume and I'm looking for a good wig, just like yours. :rolleyes1 (I am tan, so there's little chance that I'd be confused with the real Snow White.) Moreover, I have long black hair, so I'll need to buy a wig to tuck it in if I want to wear this costume (unless I do Leia buns, which could look weird, but work) Do you know where you bought your Snow White wig?

I also have a new Sleeping Beauty costume, and I am looking for a long wig with curls at the ends, dirty blonde with brown highlights in color, to go along with it. I have black eyebrows, but with some makeup, I'll probably end up as my own version of a more ethnic Sleeping Beauty, or just a friend of Aurora's! :wizard:

A friend of mine is thinking of being the Joker for Halloween - not at Disney, just for Halloween in general - but he doesn't like the store bought Joker costume and he thinks it is too difficult to piece together an authentic outfit himself. So, I gave him the idea that he should dress up as the Joker when he is in the nurse outfit. My friend has the same long wavy-ish hair as Heath Ledger did in the movie. I think its a lot more original than all the "regular" Joker's that will be running around this year. Just my two cents :goodvibes .

OMG....that is a great idea!!!! Also, I agree 100% about the store bought Joker outfit...his suit shouldnt look clean and "spiffy".
Definitly considering the Joker nurse.....thank you for that awesome suggestion:thumbsup2

Here is the wig that I purchased last year for MNSSHP. I, of course, got it in black.

And if anyone is looking for good, quality wigs, this site has quite a few of them.

You're welcome! :) I love Halloween!

Ok, I think I'm going to go as Giselle rather than Ariel. I set that wig I bought in curlers and hairspray- it's definately Giselle now! Check it out!

I'd prefer to be more original, but I think I'll have to just get the store bought Giselle costume from Disneyshopping.com since I'm not a seamstress.

We've made MNSSHP an annual trip now.

This is us in 2006. We decided to dress up twice. (Peter Pan during the party & Incredibles during a non-party day.) I'm Tiger Lily.

This is us last year and we did the same thing only we classed it up some more. (Peter Pan on party day & Incredibles on non-party day) I decided to be Smee because people kept confusing me for Pocahantas.

This year i'm going with a slightly different group so we won't be dressed up as well. But I plan to be Belle and my friend will be Gaston while my white friend will either be Lumiere or Mulan :rotfl:

Thanks BaBeeCee

Who said home made costumes had to look bad? Our Incredibles costumes were sooo good we weren't even allowed to enter the park. It caused a big commotion and the manager said we had to take our masks off for the day. We agreed but then put them right back on 20ft away :lmao:

I love people who dress in costume, especially groups. It's so clever and really triggers a sense of fun from the group and everyone around them. :hippie: pirate: :bride: :santa:

Well I was going to go as Ariel but I wanted to be something different and I couldn't find the perfect Ariel costume...so this is who I'm going as. We are going on Oct 2nd.

DARLA.jpg

I still have to get a little pink back pack that Darla carries and white knee highs. I'm also going to carry a fish bag with a nemo fish in there and it's ok if it floats because she kills her fishys lol.

This is a great costume! I would love to see pictures when you get back! Great idea!!

My mom made her own mother nature costume and my brother is going to be Indy.

My Costume (I should mention that this is NOT me in this picture)

To make it more appropriate: I'm wearing knee-length black leggings and a black tank top underneath. On top of that, I am 5'4", so it is much longer on me than in the store's pic. I will also be sewing white bows on the sleeves and I'll be wearing flat shoes (better for walking)! I was so excited when it arrived in the mail! MNSSHP '08 here we come!
