MNSSHP costumes-what are you wearing?

We're going as Dead Pirates (DH, DS10, DS6) & Dead Wenches (DML, DW).

I love the Sparrow/Barbossa for Prez Idea!

We are a family of 3 -wife and son (5) and I are going as Doctors, nurse. Just scrubshirts for us and a nice scrub/lab coat costume for our son from the costume shop. Nice and easy/comfy --and we aren't even in the medical profession

My DH and I are going as Mousekateers

We are a family of six going as Father Time, Mother Nature and the 4 Seasons.
But costumes will be kept simple. The kids are making t-shirts today that include decorative items to coincide with which season they are (i.e. dd who is Autumn is attaching fabric red and orange leaves to a yellow t-shirt and ds who is winter has a light blue tee and attaching white snowflakes... etc).

I have a blue/green flowing tank top and am adding some accessories (head wreath, vines wrapped around my arms)

and dh is wearing white and a big oversized clock (ala RUN DMC type). He may wear a wizard hat, cape and beard but not sure if that will be too much for him!

I love it!! See, I think you don't have to go all out to have a great costume idea..The kids will be nice and cool in those T-shirts but everyone will still get the idea.

I'm wearing a Nightmare before Christmas T-shirt and will put on some spooky makeup. I kind of got my tickets late this year and I think I'll be more comfortable in a simple costume.

You calling nurses lame? hehe

We were going to go as MK ride themes, but opted not to do that this year. We are all going as campaigners for the "Jack Sparrow for President" campaign!!! We found shirts on Cafe Press!

If you see 3 people in shirts (different colors) that say "Sparrow, Barbossa 2008- Take what cha can, give nothing back!" on Sept 12... That will be us!
I could never wear scrubs to MNSSHP but only because I'd feel like I was at work..what fun is that!? Actually, I'd be surprised if any of us nurses wore their scrubs as a costume...:lmao:

But, you can do so many cute costumes with them. As a teen, I dressed up in scrubs, toted around a Cabbage Patch Doll, and went as an OB/GYN doctor.
You could wear scrubs, carry a large set of pliers and go as a dentist, etc. Lots of possibilities.

We are going on Oct. 10. My DH and DS will be the yellow and blue wiggles and I am going to be Captain Feathersword. A friend from the Dis made the vest and will be sending it to me soon from Disney!! She is currently there. I am thinking about wearing blue jeans instead of black pants or I might buy some black jeans I saw from Lane Bryant. I still need a pirate shirt and a pirate hat. Then I'm going to buy ostrich feathers to glue to the hat...just like the captains. For the sword, I'm just buying the toy one from ebay and letting my son have it after the party. For their shirts, I think I'm going to iron on the wiggles logo on a blue and a yellow tshirt. DH might wear jeans or black pants. I don't know. I think I'll put DS in black shorts.

I love everyone's ideas, especially the seasons with mother nature and father time and the bee keeper and bee family. Both are so creative!!!

dd8 is going as Giselle, ds6 is going as Indiana Jones, ds13 is going as Donald Duck, DH is going as Prince Edward (from Giselle) and I will go as Snow White because she is the fairest of them all! :rotfl:

Not at all! Last year we went as bonnie and clyde and wore gangster outfits. Lots of people chose to not dress up as the characters, or characters that aren't disney related.

BTW, i spell my name meagan too!! :)

What date did you go last year? I want to say I saw a younger couple as gangsters. With possibly another couple around the same age? On October 23rd, maybe? LoL

My b/f will be the Phantom of the Opera.

I have a few costumes from the years. I haven't decided which one. I might go as Little Red Riding Hood.:confused3

DS wants to be Mike Wazowski this year and I think DD would make a perfect Boo from Monsters Inc. I am not sure what DH and I are going to do. Dressing as Sulley will be way too hot!

A few years ago my family went as a deck of cards. My mom made all the
costumes and we were "Hearts". When we got on the bus, the driver said,
"Where were you guys when I was in Vegas!" Later, during the
parade, the Queen of Hearts walked in front of us, we scraped and groveled
and she made the slash sign across her neck, "Off with their heads!" :thumbsup2 Good Times! :goodvibes

We're not sure yet what we are going to be. Some ideas I've come up with are Aerosmith groupies, Haunted Mansion ghosts (but I have a feeling the makeup would melt off), Peace Love and Mickey Mouse, 50s Girl/Boys...I'm having a hard time making a decision!!!

My party of 8 will be the Flintstones and Rubbles. There will be 2 Pebbles, one in green and one in pink. One of the teens is even going to be a Water Buffalo lodge member - complete with blue furry hat with horns. We're going on Oct. 13th. Only 2 of the 8 have ever been to the party.

We'll be there on 9/26.

DS1 - Donald Duck
DS4 - Frozone
DW - Princess Grumpy :rotfl:
Me - Mr. Incredible
DMIL - some orange halloween shirt and blinking pumpkin necklace
DFIL - hippie

Big thanks to my sister for custom making the Frozone costume. She also altered the Donald Duck costume we purchased at the Disney Store, as DS1's a bit too big for it, so she added the pants/legs. She just has the elastic to put on the bottom of Frozone's boots, so DS4 can wear his tennis shoes with a boot look. And she just has the webbed feet to add to Donald.

I'll be wearing the "Incredibles" t-shirt and maybe my sunglasses. DW asked my sister to make her a tiara (sp?) that says GRUMPY to be Princess Grumpy.

We're going as mouseketeers. :)

Red shorts, White tshirts with our names on the front, and mickey ears. Cool, original and cute. Just something we made up ourselves. :goodvibes

10/2 - DD and I are going as Mouseketeers. Got white mock turtleneck shirts and navy skorts from Lands End. I will put the names on the shirts. Ears will be waiting for us in our room in basket. Thinking white ankle socks and keds to finish it out.
