I'm looking for some creative diy costume ideas for myself and my husband for Mickey's not so scary Halloween party. I know gets very hot in Florida so I am looking for some ideas that are suitable for the warm weather. Last year I made costumes for Jessie and Woody from Toy Story so I'm looking for something different this year. Any tips would be much appreciated!

We built attractions on hats with matching t-shirts. DH was Splash Mountain with a paper mache mountain on an old straw hat and I had 3 HHGs on the back if an old top hat with a Madame Leota happy meal toy on the front.

Animal couple costumes may be easier (and less hot) to just wear a color scheme and then add an ear headband, tail, etc... Lady & The Tramp, Robin Hood & Marian, Bambi & Faline, etc... Or you could always do the best love story couple ever, Carl & Ellie.

The weather starts to get a little bit cooler in October, and since the Halloween party is at night, I'd expect it to be mid-70s or cooler as it gets later - as long as you aren't covered in layers, you should be fine. As for costume ideas, you can try some more elaborate bounding type of costumes - you may not get an exact Flynn Rider costume ready, but a green vest, white shirt, and brown pants will give people the idea, etc.

Sorry to rain on your parade. Guests over 14 can't wear costumes any more. New rule I just heard about on a podcast! Boo!

That link is for every day park visits. Special events like the Halloween & Christmas Parties & the Marathons are different. See the official page for the party (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/magic-kingdom/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/) for the costume requirements.

My husband and I are either going to use our existing Star Wars costumes (Luke and Leia...don't ask...) or possibly nab some Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde costumes. :)
