MNSSHP - candy lines question

lines for candy are short at the beginning and end of the party and during parade times. The candy is regular Halloween candy (snickers, m&ms etc). i believe we got werthers somewhere. we got so much candy and we did not hit every spot. no exaggeration but we got 16 pounds of candy between 4 of us ( my brother is a comedian so the cast members loved his antics and gave handfuls to us at many of the stations). that was way too much candy and it was a good thing we had bought a new suitcase.

if you happen upon a station that has a line (normally there are 2 sides) it will move fast so no worries.

Just have fun and enjoy the parade. Try to be up front so that you can interact with the cast members. It is so much fun.

I understand. I was merely pointing out that the candy is the same you can find at any store at home - not unique or special to Disney. If someone wants to spend their limited hours at the party (and $100+ party admission) waiting in lines for candy, that is definitely their prerogative!

There seemed to be several East-coast specific brands at MNSSHP.

While most of those types of candy are sold under different brands in the Midwest, my “haul” was slightly unique vs what is available at my home.

Have no idea what to do with the candy after i grab them all. Can i give it back?

I don't think they'd take it back. We usually give it to the housekeeping or front desk staff at our hotel. They've never turned it down!

I'm probably going to either use it for my Halloween candy to pass out or bring it to the office for everyone

My DH and I love trick-or-treating. We're both late 40s, and it's one of our favorite things to do at MNSSHP. We would never wait in the long lines for meet and greets - that's just not our thing. But trick-or-treating is something we can't do anywhere else -- it makes us feel like kids again. We always come back with at least 15 pounds of candy. We share it with friends, co-workers and our own trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

Just be forewarned, TSA at MCO will dump all the candy and inspect it. It's ridiculous, but it happens every year.

Interesting. What was east coast specific? Are Snickers, Kit-Kat, and M&M's only on the east coast? I live in NY so I guess I wouldn't notice the difference. Majority of the candy we got was this, Hersheys brands, and Tootsie Rolls.

I can't remember it's name, but I do recall getting small candy bars at MNSSHP that I had never heard of. They may be regional. The packaging was a bit plain. They were "nut" something or other. They were also really, really good!

Not those main chocolate bars that are available everywhere,
but there were some like, perhaps WDW had the Mary Jane instead of Bit-o-honey.
(Chicago used to have a lot of candy makers, so that may have been the cause of some regional candy differences)

Coming from the UK we had a great time trick or treating on our last visit, we got to try lots of candy we don't get at home! We'll definitely be doing it again this year
