What do you like best at the MNSSHP? Any special events? Or do you take advantage of low ride lines? Trying to figure out what shows/events are worth attending. We probably won't bother wtih characters, but Boo To You Parade and fireworks are for sure.

Hallowishes is my absolute favorite!

I also love trick or treating as an adult and seeing all the other adults in costume.

The ability to wear costumes and the general vibe in the park are the biggest draw for me. As a non-parade person, I also really enjoy the Boo to You Parade. And of course, short ride lines are always a great bonus.

The Boo to You Parade, is my favorite followed by Hallowishes. We were there last night, and contrary to most MNSSHP tips, the early parade was FAR less crowded than the late parade! The crowd was 1/2 as many people in Frontierland, possibly less.

Awesome...these we plan on attending for sure.

Dh and I even got matching costumes (and I never dress up). Kids are excited to trick or treat.

Did you stand at Frontierland for both the parade and Hallowishes? Or can you not see fireworks from there? Trying to figure out best spot for these.

The parade was awesome, and trick or treating was fun. My son (2.5 y) is a HUGE Monsters U fan, so the dance party was fun for us. It was the first time he got to see Mike and Sully, and he stood there star struck. We also took advantage of a couple of rides. We dressed up as Pongo, Perdita and Lucky which was so much fun. My DH tried to put up a fight about dressing up, but I put my foot down. At the end he admitted dressing up made it more fun, and he said we're doing it again when we go back next year.

Short wait times for rides is a huge factor, but my favorite part is seeing my kids trick or treat without having to wear snow boots and coats! :thumbsup2

Totally! It's always so cold Halloween nights that their costumes are are often covered with their jackets. And our kids are pretty excited about going trick or treating 2 times. :lmao:

We love MNSSHP! We do not get into character autographs either, so we enjoyed the low lines for the rides, special effects pics, lots of pics around the park, Boo to you parade and Hallowishes!

Make sure to spend some time listening and interacting with the ghosts, Renatta and Carlotta outside the HM. We also rode the HM x4, it was such fun to see the CM's in costume.

We lined up as soon as it was dark for the magic shots, they turned out wonderful.

I normally do not enjoy going early for a front row spot for the parades, but I make an exception for the Boo to you parade. It is fantastic!

Also get a good spot for Hallowishes, it is worth it. My favorite MK nightime firework display for sure.

We saved the trick or treating until the end of the night as we did not want to carry the candy around and the CM's seem extremely generous with the candy at the end of the night.

My absolute favorites are the headless horseman and the extra magic shots with photographers :thumbsup2 everything else is super sweet gravy !

I thought it would be all about the short ride lines for us -- it seemed crazy to spend the time trick or treating when I could easily buy a bag of assorted candies anywhere. BUT if you have kids with you, the treat or treating is huge fun.

So for me, the faves (in this order) were the overall special Halloween atmosphere (the lighting and fog and the happy costumed crowd), the short lines, the parade.

For my tween-age kids, it'd be the trick or treating, then short lines and (at the risk of making them sound sugar-obsessed) the special treats. There were some really cute monster cupcakes etc. If you have younger kids, well it looked like the kids in the flash mob dance before the parade were having the time of their lives.

The fireworks show was really good, and very long, but I'm an Illuminations Girl...Hallowishes still couldn't beat that for me.

We love the Haunted Mansion area. We love the lighting. We love listening to Madame Carlotta and Madame Renatta telling stories from their bench on the lawn. We love taking magic photopass shots with the hitching ghosts and the horse carriage. WE also love the lighting and decorations in other areas of the park, and just soaking up the atmosphere. We love the parade, the pre-parade headless horseman, and the castle villians show. We do also love the special characters. We just love the whole atmosphere of seeing the adults throughout the park in costume. We could care less about the trick-or-treating part of it. We can get candy at home.

Reading all this gets me even more excited. Only bad thing about the party is that it will be out last night (but thought it would be a great way to end the trip...plus, have less issue keeping our young ones out late).

Are there long lines to get photo pass with or without magic shots at HM? That sounds really cool.

we did it as our last night, too and I thought that was great -- you have it to look forward to for the whole trip, it lets you bat clean up on any rides you may not have ridden yet (or enough), and it ends the trip on a high note!

Hallowishes and the Boo to You parade...and the trick or treating!

We were there on a sold out night and were surprised to find the HM photopass pic lines very short. Just a group or 2 in front of us. The hitchhiking ghost shot has moved and is a little hidden this year. It it right across from the HM exit. For the ghost carriage you go in to the HM area through a gate next to the entrance.

In no particular order:

Hallowishes
Boo To You Parade
Super short lines for rides
Seeing the characters in their halloween costumes!
Trick or treating (since I'm an adult and can no longer do that in the real world!)
