MNSSHP....a rumor, or not a rumor.....

I just read on one of the boards that this year disney is letting the non ticket holders to stay all night?!?!?!?!? Has anyone else heard this and/or is this true??? First, when are they going have time to "decorate" if they dont close the park at six, seeing how the party starts at seven and second, if I had to put out the money for the tickets and no one else has to, I will be absolutely furious!!!!!!!! Sorry if I seem a little irate, but this just kind of "rubs" me.

In all honestly, I think there are some folks on the Theme Park board who are blowing things way out of proportion. All we know is that in the past, they closing time for the park for not MNSSHP guests has been 6. This year the closing time was listed as 7. We have one person confirming that the 7 o'clock closing time for non guests is correct. That's all we know.

I subscribe to a thread called "MNNSHP 2006 Ready to start planning" in the theme park attractions and strategies section. The post I am referring to is from tonight -
"HAs everyone been keeping up with the newest development about MNSSHP? It is rumored that they are allowing non-ticket holders to stay in the park this year."

I know the park doesn't close to day guests until 7:00 this year, but I haven't heard that they'll allow non-ticketed guests to remain all night. I can't imagine they would allow them to stay indefinitely.

I called Disney reservations and spoke to two different people who both stated that any guest without a wristband will be asked to leave the park and/or escorted out. We have never been to one before so we don't know how many people will be there anyway so we will just go with the flow! I am sure that all you need to do is pay attention to your scheduled events and you shouldn't have a problem. No matter how many people are there we will still have lots of fun! So, GO AND HAVE FUN TOO!

I called CR and talked and got the same response, non ticket holders will be asked to leave and then escorted out if not gone on their own. Not sure what is going to happen yet.

I just called this morning and asked this very question after reading the stuff on these boards. The CM said that yes non party holders are allowed to stay in the parks until 7 BUT starting at 7 they will be escorted out since they do not have wristbands.

I did express my thoughts that it will be virtually impossible to have all non party holders out of the park. I did express my concern that I was paying to have the privilage of attending the party and did not feel it was right that non party goers will have the option of staying in the parks and doing some of the activities. It was in impossible burden on the park CMs to make sure EVERY single non paying partygoer was out of the park and not enjoying the festivities. Just my .02 cents and not worth much but felt much better voicing my point of view regardless.

Having been to MNSSHP before and to EMH I really don't see what the big deal would be if they allowed people to stay. They have CM's on hand to prevent people from riding the rides or otherwise getting in the way of those that paid. It'd work the same way EMH does...a non-payer is free to wander the park, buy stuff in the shops but that's all...well almost all. They'd also be able to see any of the special shows, parades and fireworks where it wouldn't be feasible for CM's to give them the boot. Not a big deal in my mind.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've been to plenty of hard ticket events at Disneyland where they segregate the party goers as they finish ushering day guests out, like all of the Nightmare Before Christmas Merchandise Events...The cast members are really good finding people. Every ride operator and cast member you encounter will be looking for your wristband. So the few people that might slip by most likely will be caught and the small amount of people that manage to get away with it should be so small that it wouldn't impact your MNSSHP.

But the highlight of MNSSHP (and MVMCP) IS the special shows, parades and fireworks.

I have checked the Disney calendar and on the 5th of October It is also a EMH night, Now my thought is do the on site guest get to stay for the MNSSHP on the EMH and not have to buy the hard ticket for the party. I am new to all this and never been to Diseny this will be our first ever, and I am staying off site this time. it was just more affordable for us that way. So I don't know how the EMH works if you just get to stay or you paid for the EMH when you made got your WDW resort package.

Heres the flip side how about the people who are on site who went out and bought the ticket for the MNSSHP and could have stayed in the park on the EMH. I believe they shouldn't be holding EMH on the same nights as a Hard ticket event.

Oct.5 is an EMH for the morning, not the evening. There are no special parties scheduled for those evenings with EMHs. Only WDW resort guests get to use EMH perks. Anyone can buy tickets to MNSSPH or MVMCP.

I'm curious - why do you think it will be that much different from previous years? Why does changing the time when non-guests have to leave from 6:00 - 7:00 make such a difference?

Didn't they close the park at say, 6:00, herd all those with hard ticket passes into one section (TommorowLand for instance), allow those people with passes to ride stuff in that one area while the park was emptied of those not holding special passes, then release people into the whole park at 7:00 for the party?
Sure, there were always some people that got missed....those eating or whatever. But, it wasn't a huge number of people. I have to think that there is some kind of miscommunication happening here. There is no way that Disney could expect people to pay close to $40 for a special ticket and then allow others to not pay for it, yet be able to participate anyway. Sure, they couldn't get on attractions. We've all seen how well monitored that is. I have been asked to show my wrist band most times, but not always. So......No way am I paying for a MNSSHP ticket, and have to sit alongside someone who didn't pat yet is getting to see the 'special' parade, fireworks, character greetings, trick or treating. Yes, I guess they could say that only those with 'wristbands' could get candy or get photos with the characters....but, again, we've seen that that system doesn't work so well. I think we will find that it will all work out. However, I'm not buying my 3 MNSSHP tickets next week the way I had planned. Nope, not doing it until I see the early party reports.

And Tinker53...no problem. There's stuff that is still confusing to me!!!! And I consider myself pretty knowledgable. You'll catch on...just hang out here on the DIS!!!

I am a MNSSHP virgin but will be going on Oct 5th. The difference is it is easier (and more organized )to close at six and usher all non-paying guests to the exits. I'm paying $150 to take my family and if I knew that you could still stay and see the parades, fireworks and characters without paying, I would never have bought tickets. I was told by CMs on the phone that that this was a "hard ticket event" that only ticket holders would be allowed in. This now looks like a complete lie. You have to pay to ride rides, not to get in. I already bought park hoppers to ride rides at MK. It is looking like a total ripoff and a scam if they are not forcing non-ticket holders to leave.

It's like buying tickets to the 2nd game of a split double header , but they don't make the crowd from the first game leave the ballpark.

For my family, the trick or treating, parade and shows, special characters etc will be what we are hoping to get out of the evening. If we get to ride some rides with small lines too..so be it.

My thing with it is that I paid extra to see the special events. If I had known beforehand that I could have simply stayed in the park and not rode any rides and still have the "atmosphere" I would have done so. And, sorry but I like that there is only a number of tickets sold so that the crowds are smaller and the time is more enjoyable. MVMCP was fun simply because the crowds were smaller and we were able to enjoy alot of things in those 5 hours. Hey, I haven't gotten there yet so I don't know how its going to be but I already have the tickets so I will be there eventually. Hopefully it will work out. Like I said before just my .02 cents on the subject and simply my personal opinion. Hopefully, one of the first partygoers will come back and say that the CM's didn't have a problem and the night was great. I will go with an open mind but I just think the whole thing isn't right. Like another posted I have parkhopper tickets and can ride the rides any day of the 7 days I am there. I really didn't expect to pay extra to ride them. I expected to pay extra so the kids could enjoy an experience that we may not get back to do.

This is a big deal. Why should they get to sit on the curb while the people who paid to keep the park open have to stand?

I've read it described that way - but at the parties I've been to - MNSSHP and MVMCP - that's not at all what happened. People just kind of milled around. CM's gently shooed non-wristban holders out of the park. Just as I'm sure they will do this year. This difference is this year they will start shooing at 7:00 instead of at 6:00.

I'm just amazed at the number of people saying non-wristband holders will be allowed to stay, that they have been ripped off and lied to.
