MNSSHP 2015 - Be Prepared For Chaos

I'm just glad we opted out this year. Each year for us just gets worse and worse. We went to MK 3 times last trip during the day, all on party nights and we got so much done on those days because I guess people don't want to spend their day there with it closing early. But all 3 days were very low crowds. Yet the night we went to MNSSHP it was insane, I was so irritated by the end of the night. I found guests pushy and rude trying to get the most out of the event...etc. And it was packed! So much so that my children were pushed by grown adults to the grown twice during the parade for a better view.
I do love that parade though :(

For all of you people saying it was probably just crowded around the hub and main street...that was not the case last night. I don't go for the party stuff, I just like the MK at night. Although it was not packed, there were plenty of people all over the park. I am sure some wait times were short. But at some point during the night I noticed PP had a 45 min wait. Not what you would expect. The bottom line...a hard ticket event with obscene prices should NOT be this crowded. Ever. Disney greed is rearing its ugly head on these parties. It used to be great, but not so much anymore.

While some can be said its their greed, if they can sell it they will. BUT, there is also the side that when they limited it even more and it sells out they have to deal with a bunch of angry complaints and how that was the only night they could go and so on and so on. Its a two way street.

I don't care chaotic or not I will be there on Halloween and honestly I couldn't think of a better place to be on Halloween than the MK at MNSSHP. I went to the first MVMCP last year I got inline for the dwarves at 530 and was first. DW and DD went on some rides and did some other M&G's while I waited. we got nearly all the characters we wanted including a very late Sandy Klaws and very tired DD. Saw the second parade, and saw Holiday Wishes. That party was sold out and I don't think it was overly crowded at all. I am going to that same party again this year WOOHOO

It was our first time for this party, so.we don't have a basis for comparison, but truly was crowded. We lucked into a good parade spot and watched the fireworks from behind the castle, which worked pretty well. The whole week has been extremely crowded....I guess early to mid September are no longer the best time to come.

Will also be interesting to see how the rest of the parties shake out.

We went last year to the second party, it was our first time at a Disney party, and we didn't find it crowded or bad at all. Now it did very lightly rain for a good portion of the night but not enough to shut any of the rides down or anything of that nature, still it might have added to the low crowds?

Regardless almost all the rides were a walk on, even Mine Train which our kids rode 5 times that night, the lines were very light for the treats also and the ones that did have a line were very quick. We had such a good time that we are going again next week while we are on our sons Make a Wish trip. I hope the 25th is just as great, minus the rain.

If it is true that Disney gave away free passes to 500 or so bloggers, and some (or all) of those bloggers are the Disney Stepford Moms who are compensated for being unabashed cheerleaders, then somewhere in the ethernet are people who will be posting that this was the most magical party that they have ever been to, with low crowds and easy access to everything. I am not saying that the poster you quoted is one such person. But surely such people have to be out there somewhere. How else could Disney justify giving out the tickets, and how else could the bloggers justify using the tickets?

Yeah, a lot of the blogger will say "this was the best party ever" just because they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them. Most of them are unabashed "Disney freeloading cheerleaders" LOL!

The blogger corp is responsible for a lot of things, but a packed party isnt one of them, a late start, Rosh Hashanah, and the new castle show are your culprits.

No you can't blame "late start, Rosh Hashanah, and the new castle show" NONE of those things actually took $ for tickets. You can blame Disney! LOL

They also weren't checking fur the party bracelets much
So non party guests weren't able to ride rides but they were able to linger around for the shows, and parades adding to the crowd

That's true. We were checked a couple times early on, but CM's looked overwhelmed and some were just looking at each other. Overheard one of them on her radio saying in a frantic tone "I just don't know what to do". That in itself may not mean much, but clearly MK was unprepared for this night.

And this is exactly why I quit going to parties years ago. I pay extra for others to freeload? NO! (And how can they be unprepared. They do this how many times a year? Why does Disney have to invent new ways to screw up every year?)

It seems like the first party of the year is always the worst for not checking bands. The 2 halloween/2 christmas ones we have done they were checking non stop till well after 8. You couldn't even switch lands without getting checked. Same with bathrooms/shops and so on.

I know I have been reading of long lines for transportation after the party. Did anyone go back to the poly after the party ended? Wondering if the boat or resort monorail was running after midnight?

Speaking of transportation, as someone who has always taken the bus from OKW... I wonder on special event nights is it better to drive? I have never drove to MK though because of the back and forth of the transportation center.

I think it my first party that I attended that they started not clearing the park all into one land before the official party time and we had such crazy crowds I almost gave up on the whole thing. It was insane the number of people that were in that park. Rides were longs waits, trick or treating wasn't as bad but still busy, the parade and shows were packed and you could tell it was that busy from non party people. The second time was better and the third was even better. This will be my forth and I'm not looking forward to the possible crowds. I expect busy because we are going 10/20, but this has me worried and thinking of going to the Sunday 10/18 party also.

Getting nervous! This is our first year going. My youngest is 18m so I am praying she can sleep in the stroller. Anyone have any good tips that went for us? Better places to stand with strollers for the parade or show?

Last year we stood next to a family with a stroller. It seemed the perfect spot for them as the space was big enough for them with people cramming behind. Out side the HOP there is a brick planter, in front of the planter you will notice gold coverings in the street (guess about 5 feet apart). Those gold coverings is where the put the post for the ropes during the parade. They had their stroller right behind those. The mom stood next to it and the rest of the family sit on the planters edge. When the parade started the all stood up to watch. People tried to stand on the planter behind them but were told to get down.

lol. We tried to stand my then 3 year old on the ledge of that planter last year and were told we couldn't do that. Seemed the perfect place for him to me. It was like a nice little brick step. I ended up holding him.

Because the person who put it on Instagram or Twitter or wherever I pulled it from said that it was an exclusive meet with Tiana. Yes, Tiana is available to anyone, but these folks were given an MNSSHP pre-party where Tiana mingled with them. Maybe you don't consider that an "exclusive" meet, but I do.
this is not true at all, I watched this meet live on Periscope
the guy in the Smee costume got in the regular line for Tiana, but let anyone else behind him go first until they cut people off so he was the last one to meet her for that set. He was broadcasting live on Periscope. While he was talking to her this group of blogging people came over and stood outside Heritage House and started commenting on his feed that they were outside, he asked the handlers if they could all come in and get a group photo, and they let them in for about 2 minutes to get the shot, add it to their magic band, then they were done. Hardly a preparty mingle exclusive m&g whatever. Just a smart guy who knew what he was doing.

So I guess some of these people were lying on social media. Another person who was there (@floridaplunge on Instagram) also said it was a private meeting. Another person who was there (@Belle599 on Twitter) posted a schedule of events for the blog party, and it said "5:30 Not So Scary Disney Parks Blog Party Kickoff in Hall of Presidents." I can't figure out how to link to the pictures because I'm apparently an idiot. But there was definitely an exclusive event for these people. Maybe it didn't officially involve Tiana, but they definitely had their own pre-party.

Disney Parks Blog definitely had a special event for the first MNSSHP...they ran a sweepstakes for the spots available for the event. IT was on their webpage so I would believe what the two linked people said and especially the schedule of events.

We actually watched the fireworks from the safety of the Polynesian beach after we escaped MK.
EXACTLY our plan in October.:thumbsup2 EXCITED:cheer2::hyper: to see Hollo Wishes from the beach at the Poly with less craziness and crowds..:scared1:

Pre Party, sure
scheduled private meet with Tiana, no. I watched it live. I saw several people in front of him in line

ETA I was watching FloridaPlunge's periscope. He got in line for Tiana AFTER the stage show and after the parade, so the Tiana meet was not part of the pre-party. It was later in the evening.
