MNSSHP 2015 - Be Prepared For Chaos

So what can we take away from all this so far?

Don't schedule your vacation for a time when the 1st parties are occurring, whether it's MNSSHP or MVMCP and you won't have these problems by the later parties.

Going with a candy location question: where are the "trail" trick or treat lines. Meaning where there are several candy stations in a row. I'll have my 3 & 4 year old so getting the most we can get in one run is more efficient for us. I know people said near barnstormer could be one (but where exactly? near the stroller parking b/w barnstormer and dumbo?) and people said maybe near the race cars (where? along the wall from race cars toward dumbo?) Thanks for any specifics on the lines and location for the start of the lines.

There were also 3 candy stops while walking through the Tiki Room.

The trail you are describing starts at Barnstormer, passes on the back side of the Speedway (between it and the railroad), and exits by Space Mountain. That is the only trail I've heard of this year, the one at Splash is apparently no longer there.
Excellent I had no idea of this long path! The kids will love it. I think we will wait for Daisy/Donald/Minnie first, hit the trail, then the dance party....and I haven't gotten past that yet. LOL!!

There's one little trick or treat stand by where jack and Sally are meeting that had no lines. It was quick in and out.
Great tip!! Thanks. Exactly what I'm looking for. As long as they get 2 or 3 pieces they will think "this is great!" They aren't old enough to realize how much MORE you could potentially get...I'd rather grab candy and get to the parades/shows etc.

The longest lines we honestly encountered were the cop and stitch trick or treat lines on the first night. The rest were super quick.

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience last night. I am surprised that the 1st party wasn't sold out. Makes me nervous for our party - we are attending the last party on 11/1 - which I am fully expecting to sell out. I am attending myself with my 7-year-old niece and my 1-year old daughter. Don't care as much about getting on rides as I do for the experience of the dance parties/parade/trick or treating. Hoping I'll be able to easily navigate with a stroller!!

I agree with the crowd for MNSSHP on the first night. My daughter saw a sign saying that the event was sold out in the area where the maps and trick or treating bags are distributed. I didn't see it myself, but I know the crowd was much larger than MNSSHP we have attended in the past.

Soooo...... We are likely going for this Tuesdays party and then a full day the next day. Should I expect huge crowds again? The site still shows tickets available. I REALLY don't want to drive seven hours to fight crowds.

I was in that COP line around 715. Took 15 minutes to get a few Tootsie Rolls. There were at least 100 people ahead of us and maybe another 100 behind us. The line stretched back to where the Monster Dance Party was happening.

I skipped a lot of the candy lines because they looked long. Went back to some later and the lines were better - Jungle Cruise, Tiki room, riverboat. The Werthers one by Little Mermaid was never crowded, and the one in the big top bldg was short. Never did do COP, Stitch, Pirates, anything in Frontierland, or the one by Peter Pan

We went about 9:30ish maybe and it was about 15 minutes then. Both of them were about that long that had the longest waits.

I was in that line today at about 7.45 and although it looked long (it was out of the ramp) it took 5 mins to get through. I've found even though the ToT lands may look long they've all moved pretty quickly. Hold ups tend to be people not paying attention to the line moving and people with special candy buckets that have a really small opening

I haven't missed a MNSSHP in over 10 years. I went to both last week.i had a few fun moments but didn't get nearly anything done like in the past. I saw many without wrist bands character lines were all extremely busy at least the ones we saw. It was a mess.

I'm not really sure what I Am wrong about. The 3 issues I listed have been confirmed by multiple party goers. The not checking bands and escorting people out is a result of not having enough staff or lack of staff training. I have no idea if Disney has changed the amount of tickets they sell for parties so I can't comment on that. I was just saying that people have a right to complain because of Disneys lack of enforcement of the rules, not just because it was a busy night.

I just had a call. I posted a brief summary on the mnsshp official thread.

Just to clear it up, the disney phone rep said that disney was well aware of how bad they dropped the ball on clearing the parks for the first party.

So that should end that particular argument.

There is NO excuse for this and I would have demanded a refund. Why should YOU pay for what others got for free.

And it's not like this is a "new" experience. They have been doing these parties for years!

They used to really clear the park. Party tickets were let in at 7 AFTER the park was cleared. If you had a day ticket and a party ticket you were taken to a special area of the park to wait between closing at 7.

But that cost them $$$ so they raised the ticket prices and quit clearing the park. The next year after I saw all the freeloaders at the Christmas Party I went into Guest Relations and LOUDLY complained until I go compensated and then have never returned!

If you contacted guest communications about the Tuesday night party, have you heard back from Disney yet?

No, I sent them an email on Thursday, September 17 and have not heard back from them. On an unrelated note, I also have a claim in for bedbugs - so it was a fabulous trip for me :(

Interesting they would admit to that, but that absolves them of any blame I guess (if you believe this is the first year for MNSSHP and they've never heard those complaints before). I'm the one who has been arguing that the few extra people that stayed made no difference and that I feel Disney has greatly oversold and understaffed the event to maximize profits.
