MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

Does anyone know if the resort monorail is running until 12:30 a.m. after the party? I know that it did run last year after the Halloween parties, but just read another blog that said it wasn't running this year. Or is that still only the express monorail that doesn't run that late?

Thanks!

Charles

If any one in your party has allergies go to City Hall. They have supplies of allergy-safe candy there.

This is super news for my little one- THANK YOU!
Do you go to City Hall at the end of the night and trade in your candy? Or just stop by any time and they will give you some allergy free candy?

I don't think you would trade it in. They would not take the risk that it could have been tampered with. I think you just go there and get some candy.

ETA: Forget what I said and read the next post. :rotfl:

We also have food restrictions. The email says:

And if sugary candy is not your thing, there will be healthy options, too. You can exchange all your goodies, collected at the treat locations, for candy that fits your dietary needs, such as sugar-free candy, treats without nuts and healthy options too. Simply bring your candy to City Hall, and they’ll exchange your goodies for treats that meet your dietary restrictions.

Thanks for correcting me. I am surprised they would take candy back once it has been given to someone, but I guess that is the only way to do it so that kids can still have the trick or treating experience. It would be pretty boring for a kid to just stop at City Hall. :rotfl: Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! What would I do without the dis? This will absolutely make my daughter's night.

My family went as characters from Scotland/Brave. I told Merida my son would make a fine suitor since she wanted time and well, so does he. Everyone had a good laugh.

We wore the kilts all night and they worked well with the heat and humidity.

I read on another thread that the TTC monorail was running until 1am after the first party. I'm not sure about the resort monorail but it's probably running until the same time.

We're getting in late, about midnight by the time we get to our resort, on Thur. 10/4. There are two MNSSHPs while we're going. The 1st that I don't have tickets to is on Fri. 10/5. We have a 5:35pm Chef Mickey ADR. We went there last year and both my kids loved it so they really want to eat there again. I'm thinking that since we'll already have a late night the night before and due to the fact that we wouldn't get to MK until around party time and that Fridays are busy nights for MNSSHP, it might not be worth it.

We already have tickets for Mon. 10/8. We've never been to the party and from everything I've read, it sound like so much fun and that we might need two nights to take it all in. My kids still enjoy getting their pictures taken with characters and getting their autographs (from those that give them).

Do you think it's worth getting tickets for 10/5 and going to two parties considering my situation? TIA.

The candy swap sounds great! Does anyone know if there's any vegan, gluten free candy available? Thanks! Karen

I would suggest to just go on the night you already have tickets for...that will make it extra "special", which is what it should be!
Plus, I have always found that when I schedule things even after asking myself "Will that be too much? Will we be tired?", I always regret it!

Thanks for your advice. I think you're right about regretting it later.

It's really a very individual decision. We always do 2 parties because it drives me nuts to look forward t so many things at the party then get frustrted that there's not enough time to get it all done. I enjoy being able to chill and take my time getting things done knowing I have another night for whatever I miss.

That said, Monday 12/8 is the Monday of a 3 day weekend and likely to not be very busy. Most folks will leave that day after a long weekend.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking that it would be nice to have the two nights to be able to fit a lot in. My kids aren't very little and can stay up late. I just don't want to over do it. I'm thinking that since the party on 10/5 isn't discounted, we'll just wait until we are there that Friday and make a decision that day. Plus, we could see how the weather is. We're planning on going to MK that day anyway since the crowds are expected to be low with the park closing at 7pm.

A lot of it depends on how much of a hardship the additional cost would be. If t were me, I'd probaly try to go Friday night but just take a laid back approach and see the parade, fireworks and Villain Mix & Mingle. Then you'd have Monday night to trick or treat and meet characters. Then that frees up parade and fireworks time for shorter lines for other things.

If you're not big into the characters then one night really will be all you need.

But then I'm probabably the wrong person to ask. We did MVMCP 3 times last year. :cool2:

I just wanted to chime in on going to the party more than once if possible. We always try to go when there are parties on consecutive nights for that very reason. It's just so much more fun to not rush because you're worried that you might miss out. I hate having to stalk merchandise lol...I can buy what I want the first night and leisurely enjoy the parties after that :goodvibes

What order do the Villains meet in after the show? Is there an overhead map available anywhere?

Left to right as you look at the stage:

Maleficent, Facilier, Snow Queen, Hook, Cruella, Queen of Hearts.

That was the line-up from the first party--possible, but unlikely, to change.
