MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

WOW... so many pages go to through so sorry if this has been asked many times before.... but wondering what MK is like at Halloween if you dont go to the Party?

The past 2 years we have gone at Christmas and usually been in MK for Christmas Day and New Years eve. On those days they still had lots going on that was only suppose to happen during the Christmas Party....

So again just wondering what Halloweenish stuff happens at the park if you dont go to the party..... as the extra $300 for just the party night on top of our tickets sounds a bit much....

There are a few fall decorations in the MK, but nothing in the other parks. And unlike Christmas, the part elements never show up during regular park hours. I suppose that is because it's still a relatively low crowd time adn they can continue holding the party through Halloween proper. Because of the crowds, they have to discontinue the Christmas party in advance of the holiday. Too hard to close the park early.

Kids want to know....We are going to the last MNSSHP on Nov. 2. Has anyone had experience going to the last party? Will it be jam packed? Will we get more/less candy/goodies? One scenario is that they will want to get rid of all the candy/goodies on the last nite. The other is they have less to give out.

Any experiences with this?

Can't wait to be there!

The last five or six parties are at risk of a sellout, including the November 2 one. Likely to be packed, but I don't think it likely they'll give out any less candy.

A lot of it depends on how much of a hardship the additional cost would be. If t were me, I'd probaly try to go Friday night but just take a laid back approach and see the parade, fireworks and Villain Mix & Mingle. Then you'd have Monday night to trick or treat and meet characters. Then that frees up parade and fireworks time for shorter lines for other things.

If you're not big into the characters then one night really will be all you need.

But then I'm probabably the wrong person to ask. We did MVMCP 3 times last year.

I just wanted to chime in on going to the party more than once if possible. We always try to go when there are parties on consecutive nights for that very reason. It's just so much more fun to not rush because you're worried that you might miss out. I hate having to stalk merchandise lol...I can buy what I want the first night and leisurely enjoy the parties after that

Thank you both for your input. My kids love getting their pictures taken with the characters and having them sign their autograph books (I realize not all of them at MNSSHP give autographs). Going two nights would allow us to go at a slower pace and see and do a lot more. Yes, I think I'll just decide that day since I won't save anything by buying the tickets in advance (no discount for Fridays). Since my DH decided to sit this trip out, at least I'm only buying 3 and not 4 tickets.

Does anyone know if they have the hitchhiking ghost photo op this year and where it's at? Also, where is the Cinderella's Carriage photo op?

According to stitchkingdom.com, the hitchhiking ghosts picture is done at the Liberty Belle dock area. I don't recall where I read it (maybe somewhere in this thread?), but the Cinderella carriage picture isn't available this year due to the Fantasyland construction.

I read on another thread that the TTC monorail was running until 1am after the first party. I'm not sure about the resort monorail but it's probably running until the same time.

Thanks! That's great to hear. I wasn't sure if I should drive or take the resort bus, so that helps in my planning.

Last night, only the resort monorail was running after the party. Don't know how long that did however, as we were departing on it about 12:15a.

Different spot(s) this year. Last night, it was being done on the west wall outside of HoP, among that large outdoor seating area between HoP and CHH. I remember clearly because I accidentally walked through it like a first-time visitor, messing up someone's shot.

I've read there is a second spot also nearby in Liberty Square, but didn't see it for myself.

The resort monorail was still running when we left 12:45 (the express was closed). It was still VERY crowded!

could anyone tell me if Disney has any policy/etc with accessories with costumes, like weapons?
my son is going as Hawkeye and has the standard toy bow/arrow combo with his costume.....just want to give him a heads up if he can't take it with him into Disney....thanks a bunch!
