Mnsshp 2006-tips Only

The Doom Buggy is to the right when you enter the line for Haunted Mansion. Not a long line, and they put a ghost in the picture!!

My tip is to go plenty early. We went on the 29th. We were staying at pop and our bus took 45 minutes to show up. Another big tip- make sure you have your tickets. When we finally got on the bus my dd asked me if I had the tickets. I put my hand in my pocket and my billfold was gone. So I had to go back to the hotel, check and see if anyone had turned it in. No luck. Luckly I had bought the tickets over the phone in June so they just printed us up new tickets. (The night was sold out). I didn't end up getting back to the park til 7:30 and we still had to eat. We had a blast but the night goes sooo fast! Just plan on walking around enjoying the enviroment. Get plenty of pictures everywhere. They put them on a photo pass for you and you can email them to friends and look at them on line for 1 month for free. Also if you use the photo pass the whole time you can put both photo passes together and buy the disk for $99. for up to 120 pictures. We had alot of fun getting lots of pictures. Just make sure and take some yourself too! Also wear costumes. It's so much more fun that way. We dressed up as the Mario Brother gang and had a blast. Definitly out highlight of our trip. Oh, by the way, I found my wallet in the shower behind the shower curtain. I was in a real hurry when we left and ran to the bathroom 1 last time. When I pulled my pants up the wallet flipped into the shower. The night started out like a nightmare, but ended up being our favorite night. Enjoy the mnsshp.

Sounds like it was a ton of fun!I am going on the 20th to MNSSHP and I was reading people's reviews and alot of them had said that they would not recommend it,and they said that the only got to ride 1 ride and stuff...was it like that when you guys went?

I know October might be a busier month but im just trying to guess,lol..Thanks for your help if possible! :)

We went on Oct. 2. Took the girls to BBB to get their hair done (2:30) and we decided to try to head over to the park to get on some rides before heading to 1900 Park Fare for our 5:40 ADRs. When we got to the Grand Floridian (around 4:15) we decided to check and see if we could be seated earlier. No problem at all. We had a nice table and plenty of time to eat and meet the characters. So we head out about 6:00 to get to the monorail and onto the party. OH NO! We get on the monorail and after about 5 minutes of sitting not moving, they make an announcement that the monorail system will not be working for a while due to another monorail getting stuck. So everyone rushes out to make the boat. It took about 45 minutes for us to finally get on a boat and get to the party. So we did get there at 7:00 but we would have loved to have been their earlier!

We decided to just get a spot and watch the first parade. Then we just went crazy and rode rides all night. (We glanced at the fireworks, but we were on BTMR when the show was really happening - my little kids really don't like the fireworks) I can't think of any wait that was longer than 10 minutes (didn't do HM or POC). We had a super time. We didn't really do any trick-or-treating. I told the kids that we could go to the store and buy some candy that they want at another time. We loved seeing all the people in costumes. Everyone looked great. They were checking bracelets at every ride we went on!

So my biggest tip would be, forget the candy. If you have little ones that really think the candy is important, bring some with you and put it in their bags after each ride! That way they can get the kind they like and you have time for the "Disney" stuff!

We just got back today. We attended MNSSHP on Oct. 10th. This was our third party. (We skipped last year because we went to Mexico.) It was much busier this year. All of my family dressed up as Disney Dollars. The costumes were a big hit! We ate at WCC at 2:30 then headed to the MK. We entered the park at 4:15 and went straight to BTMRR to get a fast pass while we waited about 20 minutes for SM. That was our longest wait time. We then went to Tomorrowland and hit those rides before the party started. We got in line and had our photos made in front of Cindy's carriage.
We went and got our party pins. The pin had Tink on it. My oldest DD also bought the limited edition jumbo pin. They were limited to 1,500. There were still several left on the shelf that night. We saw the 2nd parade and fireworks. Awesome! We had our pictures made with Snow White and the 7 dwarves. They came out after the parade. The best part of the night is that we were the last ones to see Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and their princes. They danced with my girls and spent extra time with them when everyone was gone. It made our night!!! We got a lot done, but the night flew quickly.
PS.-The CM's made a big effort to clear the park of non-party guests, but it didn't look easy and it took a while.

Just wondering what time the first parade is at and what time the fireworks are thanks so much..Great tips!!!!!!!

I can't remember if I said this already, but starting yesterday, through Halloween, HalloWishes will be displayed EVEN on NON MNSSHP nights, instead of the usual Wishes! fireworks.

Why is this a tip you ask?

Well, because if you're going to be at the MK any other night other than the MNSSHP, it doesn't really make much sense to waste time and fight crowds to see HalloWishes during MNSSHP when you could be doing other things.

Can you take in your own bag for the candy?

I can't imagine why not... on any other day of the week, Disney wouldn't care less if you wore a backpack, fanny pack, purse, camera bag, etc., into the parks. IMO it's just a bag, go ahead and bring one (I just plan on using what they give us though - not that interested in the candy).

We plan on watching the first parade at 8:15 and then the fireworks. Any tips on what to do to kill time in between. We like to do both from halfway down Main Street....last time I sent DH and the kids off to goof around while I saved our spot.....then it turned out that everybody moved into the middle of Main Street to watch the fireworks so it really didn't matter. This year, its just me and DD, so if we have to save a spot we are doing it together. If we get up for a minute to grab a snack or do some shopping, I'm wondering what time we need to head back to Main Street in preparation for the fireworks....any suggestions?

Also--we will be at the party on 10/30. Any body have any experience in evening temps that time of year? I know in late September everyone says it is still warm and humid. How about late October?

We already have tixs for MNSSHP for OCT 31...BUT we are Now arrving ALOT earlier then planned on friday oct 27( ie 100 pm)

Our hopper passes are for sat-tues...
SO should we plan to HIT ANOTHER MNSSHP on the 27 or will 2 nights be too much/ overkill...HURRY HELP< i need to go buy these tixs if so!!

I don't think it will be overkill. We are going the 27th and the 31st. I look at it this way anything you miss at the first party do/see it at the second. From reading on dis alot of people do 2 parties.

dont think i saw this yet, if someone already mentioned this, sorry for the repeat. unless something has changed the headless horseman only rides in the first parade not the second one of the night.

We went to the second parade and the Headless Horseman did ride through. Also the map's hint to watch the second parade because it will be less crowded - NOT ! It was packed to the gills too.

This may already be posted, but I don't have time to read the whole thread(sorry). Can you please let me know how early they are letting people in for the party?

MNSSHP ticket holders are allowed to enter anytime after 4:00pm. It's not in writing anywhere - but I've never heard of anyone being rejected anytime after 4:00pm... of course if you have a MK ticket or a parkhopper that day - you can get in anytime you want (after park opening, of course) and then you'll get a wristband a little before the party starts (maybe 6:00pm?).
