MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

We will be there October 12 - 16 and this will be our first MNSSHP. Is this a silly question.......do you pay for admission to the park as well as for the party?

No, it's an 'after hours' event so you only need the party ticket to enter.

We went to MNSSKP last year, Oct 28th and I thought it was a bit chilly. I'm always cold though..lol my husband was very comfortable. We are going back this year and are taking the kids for their fiirst time.

We loved the parade and LOVED Hallowishes..Boo to you!

YIPPIE ! I just booked October 27- November 5 at the Pop Century (our first time there). :figment:
We'll also be first timers at MNSSHP! We'll be dressing up! (Nightmare Before Christmas theme). We are very excited.
Now time to hunker down, work lots of overtime, pay off the trip and hope that a discount code comes out for us and we can snag some decent air fare!
See ya at the party!

I know it is "not so scary" but anyone remember anything scary in previous years? Are there guidelines for other guests as to what costumes are appropriate? We made the mistake of riding Dinosaur as one of our first rides this past year and the whole rest of the trip the kids were anxious about each ride, even IASW! I would like to make our next trip as "nonscary" as possible, but of course it is Halloween time!

Thanks for all the great info, you guys are awesome! :cool1:

The only thing during the party that my little 4yoa chicken thought was scary was actually the parade with all of the villans. She's just not use to them.

As far as the costumes, the only restriction that I can remember is that they don't want adults wearing masks. They also don't like weapons for accessories, but I have read of people getting through with them

Hi everybody! This will be my first time staying on property and my first time at MNSSHP. Hope to go on Thur 26th. ADR time is getting close so I thought I would try for LTT and if I don't get the time I want, will go for an early seating at Chef Mickeys which could be just as much fun.

Struggling to find the right kind of costume as most of the adult costumes seem to be a bit on the revealing side, like the idea of pyjamas though. happy planning everyone,

Claire xx

Hi all!

This will be out 2nd MNSSHP and we can't wait! I'm bringing my mum for her first party this year so I'll be interested to see how she finds it! We went last year and got loads of candy, we've still got a bag full in the kitchen. The parade and Hallowishes were fantastic, we got great viewing spots for both out of pure luck. Currently thinking about costumes, I think OH might be persuaded to go as Captain Kirk and mum's thinking of being a hippy (she was one back in the 60's.)

Hi Queenie! This will be my 2nd MNSSHP as well. I'm bringing my Mom, Dad and sister for the first time! Could you mention where your great viewing spots were for Hallowishes and the parade. I was stuck in Liberty Square for the parade and didn't have the best view. I'd love to see the parade on main street! Thanks for any suggestions! :goodvibes

We're getting pretty excited about attending our first MNSSHP this year, too!!! We'll be at WDW 9/23 - 10/7 & looking forward to this party & the F&W Festival at Epcot - both will be firsts for us.

I've also been trying to decide on a cute costume idea that will be cool enough that time of year in FL! I'm from Cleveland where it's been known to snow on Halloween, so I'm not used to being able to wear a warm weather Halloween costume! LOL :lmao:

We're hoping to attend a party on either 9/29, 10/1 or 10/5 - depending on what nights they schedule the parties for! :teeth:

We've never been to MNSSHP. Can someone tell me how it works. Do they shut the park down at a certain time for MNSSHP ticket holders only? Do you have to get there right when the party starts or can you go any time during the night you have the ticket. Are tickets hard to come by? TIA

The park closes at 6:00 p.m. on party nights for guests without event tickets. In the past, ticket holders have been able to enter the park after 4:00 p.m. with their event tickets. Between 6:00 and 7:00 (when the party officially starts), party guests are all directed toward one area of the park. Last year it was Adventureland. Ride waits during the party are usually walk-on, but no more than 10-15 minutes. MNSSHP is great. Kids and adults get to trick-or-treat. Last year four of us came home with over 12 lbs. of candy - and we didn't work too hard at collecting.

We'll be there from 10/11 - 10/15 on our honeymoon! We can't wait to know the official days so we can plan! This will be our third MNSSHP but first as husband and wife so extra special :lovestruc We have talked as dressing as pirates to save on packing (we're going on a cruise afterwards and will dress up on pirate night) but we also have another fun idea we'd like to do - wonder if we could make it to 2 parties! I can't wait, we love it. Nothing like 2 adults running across the park to go on pirates one more time - alone! (the 5th time that night) lol.

For those here that have been to MNSSHP in the past - what nights do you think are the least crowded? We're trying to decide if we should attend the 1st party this year on Friday, 9/29 or wait until the Sun, Tues or Thurs party the following week (not sure of the schedule yet.) Do you all think that Fridays are the busiest parties since there is no school the next day (a lot of locals there) - or would this not apply so much to the first party since it is pretty early for Halloween?? We'd love any advice!! TIA!! :teeth:

We went on a Thursday in 2004 and it wasn't bad at all. Looking forward to going again this year. Planning a stay at WL Oct 9-11 then transferring over to DD area to Royal Plaza. Plan to do a Tuesday party this year if possible. Dressing as Wendy with DD as Tink, son as Peter Pan and husband is Hook. DH wouldn't dress at last party but sort of got the spirit after being there.

My family(fifteen of us) are going September 30-October 8.My kids can't stop talking about MNSSHP.I can't decide if we will attend that Sunday night or Thursday if they have it then.I also want to eat at LTT at around 4:30.I am not sure about costumes yet,I would like my four to be from the same theme but my oldest is insisting on a Star Wars costume and the others won't go for that. :)

I can't wait! I want to eat at LTT again; last year they were all dressed up as Haunted Mansion servants which made it really fun, because I was dressed as a Mansion maid myself. Pluto kept trying to send me back to the kitchen to get to work! :p

We are local and always go on a Friday night so I can't compare it to a weeknight, but even on Friday night the crowds are light and definitely manageable. We usually go no later than mid-month since I think the parties do get more crowded as it gets closer to Halloween.

Hi all,
Got all booked for AKL for Sept 30-Oct 8 and planning on MNSSHP on Sunday evening Oct 1 and possibly one other evening during the week.

Got to love MNSSHP- it's good enough to do twice in one week for sure!

Going to try for a LTT dinner seating around 6PM on the 1st and possibly a Chef Mickeys for the other night as I think that would be great to jump on the monorail and ride from dinner to the party.

In 2004, the last time I went the party was from 7PM to midnight...That is still true, isn't it?

Would love to get hooked up with some other Dis'ers on the 1st and maybe all watch Hallowishes or the parade.

Anyone out there with the same dates, just PM me.

And a big second to all those planning to dress up....make it very light and no masks- It was very hot and humid in 2004 and 2003 and I felt sorry for those people who were shedding costumes.....

I think I will be making my sister, my niece and myself pirate costumnes.

In honor of my fave, Pirates of the Caribbean.... pirate: :woohoo: :hmghost:

Oh my Gosh!, I am sooo looking forward to MNSSHP. I can't wait until the tickets go on sale. My kids are gonna love it. We will too!
