MNSSHP 2006, Ready to start planning!

We don't get there until 10/28. So Sunday night would be our 1st chance to get to the party.

Should i go on Sunday or Halloween. Anyone ever go on Halloween night? Am I better with Sun, if I went less crowds? I went to MVMCP on 12/6 last year and it was a complete zoo!!!!!!!! I don't want to go if the crowds are like that.

Tabitha

We're going Sept 30-Oct 7. Getting married on Oct 4th at Wedding Pavilion. Hoping to got to MNSSHP on Thursday if it's available that day. YAY!!

My thoughts on pre-buying your tickets....

Unless you are going Halloween week, the tix are rarely sold out.
Last year we went on a Sunday night in late Oct. We pre-bought our tix as usual. The weather was miserable!!! I mean thunder, lightening, heavy rains, all night long! Parade & fireworks were canceled.
We ended up going again on tuesday night.
Buying ahead saves you maybe $4.00 a tix or so.
I'd say if you can, wait until you know what the weather is going to be like because it's not any fun in bad weather like that.

Just wanted to add that when we went to MVMCP in December one year, it was like a monsoon the night we went! They cancelled many of the activities, including the Christmas parade that we had been waiting to see. By going to Town Hall at the MK before leaving this party, we were able to get complimentary tickets to the next scheduled MVMCP. They were doing this for many guests that attended that night. We ended up returning to the next party & instead of rain it was 30 degrees!!! LOL But, we saw the parade that time & enjoyed ourselves!

We will be buying our tix to MNSSHP ahead of time to save some money - $4 saved per ticket is a couple of Mickey bars after all! :goodvibes JMHO :)

I am interested to know if anyone has been on halloween night itself and whether that was particularly crowded.

hmmmm...Now I may need to change my travel dates.

I had not even thought about the Halloween party. We were planning on going from 9/20 - 9/28.

Now I am thinking of shifting my dates. We have never been to the Halloween party before. This could be fun!

We went to three MNSSHPs in 2005, October 28. 30, and 31. It is wonderful. I didn't think Halloween night was too crowded. We hope to go back this year. Be sure and wear costumes, that's half the fun.
Forgot to add, last year it was not hot on the nights we went. Those of us with light weight costumes were glad to add a sweater.

I guess so many people have done this, that they said they were never re-issuing tickets again due to bad weather. We were told this at town hall.

Our family went Halloween night 2005 and we did not find it crowded at all until it was time for the Boo to You parade and Hallowishes. Minimal lines for getting the complimentary group photo. We did every attraction in Fantasyland and Toontown and stopped for some pictures with the characters(too cute dressed in Halloween costumes). The candy lines move really fast so even if it looked long, it too very little time. We will definitely do a MSSSHP again this year, but don't know if it will Halloween night. We haven't picked our dates.

Does anyone know or remember how they worked the lines for the candy? do they give you a map with stickers on it for each sight like they did for Disneyland last year? or can you just hop in any old line?

I just looked at the rotation for the days of the week MNNSHP from last year, and it looks like there won't be a party on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend like I had hoped for :( We're arriving Friday 10/6 about midday, so we could go Friday night, but I'm thinking we'll probably be too tired from traveling to stay up for the party. Looks like I'm going to have to rethink my itinerary for our trip

Where are you all seeing dates for this year??? :confused3

The dates for this year are not out yet. Folks are looking at last year's to determine what nights they might be this year.

The 'tentative' dates came out mid-April and tickets and dates were released April 30.

Soon, we all should know!

I just looked at the sept park hours on this site and apparently, MNSSHP starts on the 29th of Sept. Woohoo! We can really start planning!

I have a feeling that's just a guess on the DIS' part based on the fact that MK closes at 6:00p that night AND based on when the parties started last year.

The dates are not 'officially' out yet.

We are planning on going 10/19, as long as that night is on their schedule. Last year was our 1st MNSSHP my girls loved it! They are so excited that we will going again this year! We are so excited.

Our cast is DH, DD 6, DD 4, me, MIL, SIL, BIL, DN 5. The costume work has not begun yet!

I am so excited about MNSSHP. party: This will be our first year and I'm probably more excited than my DH and DD. I've "studied " and read more about it than they have so maybe that's why. I hear some complaints about it but I just think it's going to WONDERFUL!! I don't plan on dressing up but DD wants to be Kim Possible; DH definitely wouldn't dress up. Do adults dress up? And if so, what types of costumes have you seen?

Yes, some adults do wear costumes. My DH and I dressed up as pirates last year and had a great time pirate: . In costume or not, it's alot of fun!

Yes, lots of adults dress up!

Some great costumes I saw were:
Mouseketeers (easy & cute)
Groups of pirates
Cinderella and her step sisters (SS were guys)
M & M's (they all wore colored tees and black pants with white gloves, easy!)
Bowling pins (I think someone must have made these, but it looked easy)

So many more, just can't remember.
