MNNSHP- without ticket

Just a side note - What about people who only have the MVMCP or MNSSHP tickets, but not disney tickets. Do they wait until seven to get in. I read they could come in on that ticket around 4. Is this just the same as the "theives" everyone is griping about?

Disney decided to let those guests only coming for the party to come in at 4pm. So, I think that it isn't taking anything away from the day guests. They are getting extra revenue from this by letting the day guests stay until 7pm. In past years the closed the park at 6pm for HT events.

I also want to say that DW and I went on 10/17 and had no issues. We saw a few people after 7 w/o a wristband but the CM's cleared the park very well after 8 we didn't see any more "gatecrashers" around the park. CM's manning the rides were vigilantly checking for wristbands also.

I thought it was a value for all of the fun we had. We never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for any ride and rode several 5-6 times. The parade route was packed but that was because we waited until the last minute to get there. We were busy riding space mountain again and again. Trick or treating was great fun. The fireworks were awesome.

Would definitely do this party again. I think it was so good the night we went because it was a week night. We were there Friday (10/20) afternoon and saw a sold out sign for that night.

My family consist of me and my wife. This is not a slow time for MK. The week of Thnaksgiving is one of it's busiest times, but they do the xmas party then and close at 7:00 that crazy. I understand the stated hours are until 7, but I do not feel that a second charge should be allowed for something on the same day for the same park. Should you be recharged for each park you park in if you change parks during the day? Of course not. If I stay, or am ask to leave I will and not be disappointed, but either way I will let "guest" services know what I think. At 40 bucks a person to keep the park open to normal hours is crazy and from the reviews I have heard a real waste anyway. I know I will get flamed, but I care not. I have convienced many people to vacation to WDW and My wife and I will buy DVC as soon as we can. Nothing is going to deter me from Disney, but would Walt himself charged extra for something like this? NO WAY

Sorry, this doesn't fly. Theme park admision costs the same every day of the year, regardless of park hours or if there is a hard ticket event for that day. Some days the park hours are 9 AM until 8 PM even if there is no hard ticket event scheduled. Other days it's 8 AM until Midnight. The admision price is the same for both days. If you choose to go on a day with shortened hours, that is YOUR choice. There is NO excuse for staying after the park has closed if you did not buy the party ticket. If you'd rather get more for you theme park admision dollars, then go on a day with longer hours. If you want to stay for the party, buy the ticket. If you stay and don't buy a ticket, you are stealing and should be ashamed of yourself. You can justify it to yourself all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you would be stealing.

So I am a theif for wanting to stay longer, but people who come at 4 for an event that starts at 7 is ok. That makes no sense. If the party starts at 7:00 the gates should close physically at 6:00 empty the park, reopen at 7:00 allowing only ticketed people in at this time. That is how a "party" or ticket event is handled in the real world. The people who enter early before the party time are stealing as well. They did not pay for a full day admission just the party. Thus, are in the same boat.

It is funny to me I would never really argue with anyone about something like this, but when people respond to post with words like stealing, theif, and personal attacks on me I feel I must. Those are attacks on my character for something I said I might do, but have not done. What kind of people are on a "disney" board that those words are the first out of their mouths. I have really kept at this to show how some people over react to something that is none of thier business. I this how or what they are teaching their children. I how with all my heart you people are not at WDW the same time we are. I see these people all the time on Main street. Yelling at the kids "Stop crying your in the happiest place on earth you big baby." (yes, I heard that exact phrase). Disney has a police force that is in place. They do not need a milita too. Out.

Well when i was at the parties on 10/23 and 10/24 and sitting in the hub to watch the first parade they were walking up and down main street holding up their arms and telling everyone to show their wristbands...so they must have caught on to people like your friend who were trying to see if they could "get away with staying" ;)

Not even close. Disney owns the parks and says that you must leave at 7 pm. Disney lets those with park tickets enter at 4 pm. They are not sneaking in.

The reason they let people in at 4PM with party tickets is PURELY LOGISTICAL.

If they didn't, imagine if 20K+ people tried to enter the MK at once at 7PM? You'd be in line outside the gates for half the party.

So any argument that it's stealing because Disney starts funneling in party guests early is silliness. It's simply Disney's way of filling the park in a more staggered fashion; it is not done for the detriment or enjoyment of any specific group.

WDW could be such a better place if the me-first people would get a clue. But the way I look at is, it's Disney's responsibility to make sure their patrons follow their rules. Not my job. So I would place the blame on Disney if people are running rough-shod over the rules. (Or maybe they are not rules, but merely suggestions.)

Anyway, if people are re-using mugs, illegally pool hopping, or staying in the MK after they should have left to catch an extra parade, then Disney needs to deal with this. Heck, I'm on vacation. Why should I have to worry about this crap? (LOL!)

You said it!!!!! :teeth: :teeth:

We went to two separate parties (19th and 20th) and we only got a single wristband check. They don't really know--but it doesn't really matter. I've only been to Disney twice as an adult, but both times were during "party times" (last year's MVMCP and now Halloween) and both times I felt like the parks were empty enough for me. We walked onto almost every ride we rode at both times of the year, got to enjoy the fireworks and parades, and got a ton of character pictures without any wait.

I think the whole "they're-letting-people-stay-in!" thing is getting blown out of proportion. Not enough people are staying to make some sort of huge difference.

i disgreed....i responded because i felt this is important issue...on the 29th,
the place was packed to the max.,even 12 + would have made a big difference. lucky you..for having low crowds... :shamrock:

seeing the way they made changes [actively] checking bands..was probably
due to guests {me included} complaining. lucky for us, there were "nice"
people around us for the parades..fireworks....we worked together so our
children could be up in front, and the adults were behind them..so "tight",
we had to "repositioned" when taking pics..in fact..sometimes i just handed
my camera to the person who was in a better position to take the pic of my
daughter...

while the basic issue isn't major...the underlying refernces are! [ my feelings],
cos..i was raised to get involved, ...anyone ever seen the tom h. movie
the "burps"...citizen arrest!..while it was made out to be humerous, i do
think alot of tragedies could have prevented if "good" character people
would have took a corrective measure beforehand. i think parents should be
working with the schools as supporters...& i respect/suppport those making
a stand.

i read the orginal debate...& it is self evident....posting the same issue again
would make those "paying" for mnsshp hurt. disney decided to set up these
parties, and from the begining..charging monies for the tickets..c'mom,adults?
your choice is whether or not to pay or not attend. however, one willing to
stay by "hiding" or whatever measure { just hanging around} were taking
privileges without the proper ettiquete.

when i commented , i was not speaking for anyone but myself..if you think
it is ok to a "steal" a mnssp pass, then i prefer not to associate. if i caught
someone, then i did report you to the nearest cast member.

restitution! dvc member or not...or any other title, does it included you?-
was "free" to illegally enter the magic kingdom? unless you were given a free
mnnsp's pass by disney...like maw. i am wondering now, if the upstanding
persons, who claimed they stayed,...paid disney restitution?

and my take on "character" isn't what you say, however, i do believe
everything one projects until proven otherwise....so character, to me, isn't
exactly what you say...but the behaviors you are demonstrating..for
example, if one "practices" taking property [ money, privileges, or even
places in a line] then my conclusion is self evident. now if someone makes
a mistake and take a corrective action...i respect that,& as having good
character...but when someone rationalizes as being their right then i formed
a different opinion. on instances where it effects my well being [ like having
to wait {lost time} longer, you can expect me to take a corrective measure.
first, redirect then if necessary, set a limit..

expressing this is not to say iam better than anyone else...i have/do
make mistakes..and it is my intention to correct the mistakes by taking
corrective actions...listening to others & taking a corrective action. i
have found, as one of the best way to create a good impression. that's why
i responded, to shared..."i believe, your rights end, when your words/actions
begin to hurt others..so when someone react in a hurtful way, i "see"
it as a signal to correct my mistake..sometimes saying sorry is all is needed
but if i destroy/lose property..i will replace it.." and while utilmately, its
disney responsibility to protect their guests, i also feel guests need to
support them. often others easily "see" their "rights" but forget about
the "responsibilities" that goes along with them...i don't see any magic in
taking advantage of disney.

finally, i do feel guests working together is important for disney's cm's
maintaining its standards of care. we all can help by helping others
and respecting ( do have to agree ) the rules. the end, for me.

I was part of the original group of 'whiners' who were curious as to how Disney was going to deal with the non-ticket holding guests when it came time for the party to start. I sent them an email, they responded to me via the phone. We had a nice chat. So.....I went to the party last Monday night, the 23rd. We arrived about 6:50. There was a huge stream of people being led out of the park, while another huge stream of folks entering, with their requisite wrist bands on. We were not herded into one area of the park, but we did have to show our wristbands in order to move around at all. You were asked to show your wristband for candy, for photopass shots, for the attractions. It was pretty crowded, but we still had a terrific time. In fact, we tried to do too much, I knew better but was with another family who wanted to see it all/do it all, and we know that just isn't possible.

Would I do it again? I'm not sure. I love MVMCP, have done it 3 years in a row now....I love to start my holidays off with it. MNSSHP was fun, but it was really crowded, possibly due to the Food and Wine festival at the same time. But I have to say...I had no issues whatsoever with the CMs moving those without wristbands out of the park. They did a terrific job. I don't think I've ever seen quite so many CMs in one area before!!!
