MNNSHP- without ticket

It's not about "I'm selfish and I don't want anyone else to see the magic!", it's "I paid to get in to this event, and non-paying guests are taking up space and making it harder for me and my family, paying guests, to see the attractions". NED

Actually it is a little bit. There are several people posting on here about Hallowishes being every night, and that is WRONG, because THEY paid for it as part of MNSSHP and NOW these PEOPLE get to see it to.

anyone who says that people aren't or shouldn't be buying the MNSSHP tickets to see the parades and fireworks is wrong

we didn't buy our tickets so we could get on rides with little wait... we bought our tickets because Disney led us to believe that paying the money was the only way to see some special halloween festivities in the magic kingdom. disney led us to believe that buying the tickets was the only way we could see the halloween parade, the special hallowishes fireworks etc.

so if there are people there who haven't spend the money then of course we feel cheated.... but if disney are making it easy for non ticket holders to stay then it's disney I would feel cheated by more than the public even if it is pretty cheap and tacky to try to stay at the party without a ticket

Well I guess it just sort of ticked us that she was able to sit on a bench in the hub for both the parade and fireworks and was never asked to leave. If all they do is ask a huge group to lift up their wristbands, that doesn't really sound like it's going to pick out people without them, unless they come right out and say they don't have one. I guess that would be more of a guilt thing, which doesn't work on some people.

And for me, aside from the candy, the fireworks and parade were the "package", because I'm a passholder and can do the rest of it every day all year long. (I live an hour away, so that's literally true.)

Now I have a feeling my co-worker didn't go out of her way to advertise she didn't have a wristband, but I know she didn't "sneak" around and hide in the bathrooms or the bushes either. She even got into Tomorrowland after it was roped off and castmembers looking for wristbands, by just saying "I'm going to go eat at Cosmic Rays". The castmember asked her if she had a reservation, lol, and she of course said "are you kidding, for Cosmic Ray's", and then the person let her by. So they actually let her into a wristband-only area without a wristband! LOL So, so much for "separately ticketed event". :rotfl:

That's interesting because I didn't think they were doing the roping off of the lands this year, I know that the party we attended 10/2 party they did not rope off tomorroland. Last year they sent all the party guests to one land, usually tomorrowland while they cleared the park and you did have to show a wristband to enter but this year the entire park remained open. At closing they were very clearly sending those without party tickets toward the exits but partygoers could access any of the lands. I found them very vigilant at the restaurants, especially Cosmic Rays because they were holding a dance party with stitch. We could walk freely to tomorrow land but we had to show our wrist bands to order and once while sitting to eat and wait for the dance party.

I didn't notice anyone without a wristband but honestly I wasn't looking for it either. I imagine that the latter part of the months when the parties are sold out it would be more important to keep up the policing of non party ticket holders.

Again, I am sure that a party of one could more easily blend in than a family or even a couple especially if they were savy about the park and where to stand without drawing attention to oneself. I still feel as if it would be way to much stress though experiment or not.

Interesting.....

You can see the fireworks from basically any of the hotels on 7 seas lagoon. Complaining about people being able to see the fireworks is pretty useless because if you are anywhere around the Magic Kingdom you can probably see them.

Right now as a result of this MESS, I am seriously considering NOT buying tickets to MVMCP.

Disney got GREEDY... they want the regular guests to stay and spend for that extra hour instead of doing what they have successfully done in the past. So I hope that they get the $40 worth of spending from the guests to replace the tickets and OTHER things those of us who decide this isn't worth it don't spend.

If you want to go and think you will enjoy the party don't let the stress of the potential crashers deter you!!

I read all the reports and the concerns prior to the party when we first read of the plans to keep the park open. Honestly though, based on my experience on 10/2 I found it better than in prior years because you didn't have to spend an hour in one land or in a restaurant but could enjoy the land/attractions of your coice. I didn't see anyone without wristbands and though the CM's make it very clear that you had to have a ticket, buy a ticket or leave.

I went with the intention giving the changes one try, enjoying this years party and if things were not under control not returning. Based on this years party if we are in WDW during a party I will likely attend again.

Depsite all the concerns this is the first post I have read reporting someone who stayed without a wristband and it was a solo FL resident who would know how to avoid detection, again just my impression :)

We went to MNSSHP on Oct 5th and , in general, it was well policed. There was a huge stream of people going out at 7pm when the park closed. Although I wasn't looking hard for wristbands, I saw none after 9 o'clock and only a few between 7-9.

It's impossible to get everyone out, but it was worth it. I was a HUGE skeptic before I went , but I was very pleased. The parade was so awesome, we watched it twice! The headless horseman wasn't quite as dramatic as I thought it would be , but hey, it's still cool!

We haven't done our trip report yet-- too busy getting back into the swing, but we'll do one soon. My Wife wants to call it "My husband's getting to be an old man" and I wanted to call it "So I married a Drill Seargent." :rotfl:

That being said, anybody that intentionally stays after the park closes for more than just some shopping on main street before you leave is stealing. It's no different than going to a movie and staying in the theater to see the next show, even though you didn't pay for it...

Personally, the only reason I'd rather they didn't is because on non-party nights I prefer to see the original version of Wishes myself. But since they are doing it, on nights the MK is open regularly, so be it, at least in my eyes.

There is a big difference between being miffed that others will get to see fireworks during normal hours and people staying in a hard ticket event that is very costly to attend and taking up space they haven't paid for.

Two totally different discussions.

Besides - starting on Oct 15th they are now showing HalloWishes every night - not just on MNSSHP nights. (that kinda irritates me - first off, I wanted to see 2 different fireworks displays and second, I paid extra to see hallowishes and now everyone can see it.)
I read that earlier. I wonder if they are doing it because of maybe a new firework show for YoMD.

I don't know. Since the main things I like are the fireworks and parades why should I pay?

Because you'd be stealing.

Would you shoplift in your local Target? It's basically the same thing.

I am confused! My understanding was that CMs don't ask people to leave the park - that people can stay for the parade and fireworks and eat at the restaurants, but that they cannot ride any of the rides???
You might be thinking of Evening Extra Magic Hours? I think with the hard-ticketed events, even though Disney's not shutting down MK for an hour to 'sweep' and decorate, it's only reasonable and sensible to direct non-ticketed Guests toward/to the exit, including not letting them shop.

IMO, cms did a far better job of clearing the park for MNSSHP than they did for MVMCP last year.

1) Before we entered the park there was a cm advising all that the park would be closing early for a specially tix'd event.

2) Announcements started in tomorrowland a full hour before the park closed indicating the event, procedure & that tix were still avail to purchase.

3) CMs started to wander the table/seating area around SpceMt. & advised all w/o wristbands that the park would be closing & they'd have to leave...several guests got a bit rowdy but, situation was diffused.

4) Watched non-wristbanded guests get turned away from SpceMt after 7:00 p.m., did feel bad for the kids but, adults should have known better...certainly couldn't say they weren't advised.

Did think it was overcrowded, would hate to see it on a sold out night. Noticed quite a few non-banded folks sitting in the hub area...couldn't help to be irritated that they were "mooching" and taking up seats that paying guests could have utilized.

Parade was nice but, shorter than I would have cared for...could care less about candy/trick or treat feature. The show in front of the castle appeared to have been thrown together, certainly not up to Disney standards. Crowd must have agreed with me, no applause when it ended abruptly...weren't sure whether it was over or not...strange.

Particularly surprised to read that firework show changed over on 10/15...it was the best part of the whole evening. Accordingly, unless we didn't have "regular" park tix or APs, I wouldn't spend the money again for this event.

they didn't rope off tomorrowland when we were there on the 16th. I'm wondering if the op's friend is pulling her leg, or perhaps imagining that she could have done all these things. hmmm.

I am pretty sure what Carol is contimplating is skipping the party alltogether rather than pay $40.00 for a fireworks show she can see during regular park hours. I never read anything from her stating she intended on staying in the park without a ticket.

No one forced him to buy a ticket and no one made him more worthy than anyone else. Good grief - talkabout a non-disney attitude!

No one forces anyone to buy a ticket to any of the parks, ever. But if you sneak in, it's stealing. If you leave a restaurant without paying, it's stealing. So yes, I guess that makes those of us who pay for things that actually have a price attached to them, instead of thinking paying is for thee but not for me, "more worthy."

Nope and for this very reason I just may not go.... It burns me up to see other folks doing this and if Disney is going to allow it then I will feel ripped off!

I have gone to the party for years and felt like the 'herding' into one land and the closing of the park, shops etc for the FULL hour was fairly effective. This new method seems to be very ineffective and I think in December when it's cold and folks have on sweatshirts etc the "armband" check is going to be very hard to accomplish!

I think the CM's do a good job getting people out of the park. We saw very few people walking around without wristbands and when we DID see someone we told the nearest CM. :thumbsup2 So if you try to sneak in better stay clear of me. :lmao:

She may have gotten away with it that night, but I have seen, on multiple occasions and multiple parties, CMs asking for wristbands around the train station and Town Square. While just walking around and while setting up for the parade. I've seen a woman freak out and be escorted my a number of managers from Town Square when asked about her wristband. Something about "NO ONE EVER TOLD ME...". Don't know what happened after that.

HalloWishes is showing every night until the end of the month. Don't know why (and not my preference), but the perimeter fireworks are only showing on party nights.
