MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Nell: I hope you got your head back on straight after you fed yourself! It's amazing how sensitive we can be! I hope you have a better rest of the day.

Cindy: Hats off to you for the extreme workout! I hope it gets easier for you today! I've got another silly muscle spasm in my shoulder, so have to go to the body therapy guy this afternoon. I go to a Bowen therapist. I wish I could work out harder, but slow and steady is making inroads for me, at least. I finally got a compliment at work today and several people said they liked my outift, which I know means I look better, but they haven't figured that out yet, lol!

The good news for you Lisa is you've been losing! I'm STILL siting at 169. It's driving me crazy so I guess I need to be doing an extreme work out. Something has to give! I bet you looked FABULOUS in your outfit!!:lovestruc

Bev - thanks for checking out that soup recipe...I was thinking 2/3 cup was legal too! Going to try it out this weekend and I'll let you know! All the great things about black beans make me want to start using them more!! Congrats on the new purse, it sounds too cute!!

Morning Kate!

Off to do something with the turkey breast that spent the night in my crockpot!!

Talked with Ken, he is frustrated that things are not moving along as quickly as he hoped there, apparently the Chinese are extremely detailed and picky about EVERYTHING... but he says he was never worried about getting back here before, so he thinks maybe he is just over-anxious!! I told him not to worry, I am not going anywhere!! LOL

Pony  You must miss him so much. I hope the negotiations go quicker than expected!

The thing is that with the extream work out you'll build muscle which is heavier than fat. Do you think it's possible that maybe some of that has been going on all along? You've been really on it with the exercise, almost from the beginning.

Hi Nell - No, I weighed 154 pre-Parker baby. And I was doing the Turbo Jam religiously so I'm hoping to get at least back there. We took before pics the other night and I have some pics of when I was working out and I'm definitely on the "chubby" side. I've been doing exercises okay up until now, but I'm definitely going to see some action. It really kicks your butt! My pecs hurt today (and yesterday) and the insides of my thighs are hurting today. Tonight is shoulders and arms. Can't wait to see how I feel tomorrow. I can't do one pull up but boy I'm trying!!

How are you sweetie. I've been reading that you are doing fantabulous on Step 2!! I'm so proud of you!!!

Cindy: You're our little one so your results are going to be smaller in comparison, but don't be discouraged. It will kick in and I have a feeling it will skyrocket when it does. My sister's clothes are falling off with P90X and she was a size 6/8 to start with. We're proud of you and I know your husband is really, really pleased to have you by his side in this quest for fitness. You are both giving such a gift to your children - strong, fit and active parents!:cheer2:

Well, it seems that it is slow everywhere!! Work is totally dragging, and you guys are pretty quiet too! Well, hopefully that means all is well!

Lisa - Im going to try that Bean soup recipe this weekend, sounded pretty good to me! I also found a recipe for a black bean salad that sounds good too.

Black Bean Chicken Salad:

in large bowl, combine 6 cups torn lettuce, 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken breast, 1 can rinsed and drained black beans, 1 cup chopped tomatoes, 1 cup chopped green pepper, 1/2 cup sliced onion and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
In blender combine 1/4 cup fresh minced cilantro, 1 tbsp cider vinegar, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp lime juice, 1/2 tsp grated lime peel, 1 clove minced garlic, salt, pepper and 1/4 tsp chili powder....process til smooth and toss with salad to coat. Serves 4 one serving is about 2 cups, 26g carbs and 10 g fiber plus 28g protein!! 298 calories what do you think?

Cindy - if anything will take the weight off that program should!! Nell's right though, all that added muscle will weigh more..so stay off that darn scale!!!

That sounds delicious! Especially the dressing! Where are you getting these recipes? Can you put them on our thread, please?

I'm heading out to my body therapy appt. and I usually get tired afterwards so don't worry if you don't see much of me tonight. I'll drink a lot of water, which he recommends too, and get some rest.

I decided to post so it wouldn't be so quiet!:banana::banana:

Hello everyone! Hope your all having a wonderful day!

I am really tired tonight. Decided to wait until next week to go and meditate. I think being late eating really threw me for a loop. How weird that it had such a reaction. I'm actually pretty happy about it. It proves to me that what I'm doing is the right direction to be heading.

Well, I bought a Christmas tree. I'm getting ready for the Christmas Celebration to be held on Thanksgiving. :santa: I get two times to celebrate this year. First with my family, then the real thing. I don't feel so weird though because I have noticed my neighbor across the street is putting his tree up too, lol. I haven't put it up yet, but that's coming. Just as soon as I find the energy.

I ordered from vitacost and they have really slowed down on how quickly they ship. I'm hoping to get and try the D-Ribose soon. I hope it's another step toward wellness for me. Well, I'll check in a bit later. I'm here as soon as everyone starts talking! :grouphug:

Hello all,
Just checking in..I am still around and still on plan..I have been having some issues and have gained some due to the fact that I have had my foot in a cast for the last 3 weeks. Dr will not let me walk in the mornings. I am still down 15 lbs but I am struggling not being able to walk. Going to the gym to see what I can try up there. I made the pumpkin pie that Diane has on the blog. It is awesome. I am trying to stay on step 2 but may go back to step 1. Iwill try to keep plugging away.. Will come back soon. SueAnn:thumbsup2

Good evening everyone. Didn't make it to work tonight. Mike's daughter and her cousin are painting my living room. It is sponged green and blue. I don't like it at all. I am more of a neutral color person myself. They have a habit of doing this stuff :(
They wait until I'm at work, go get the paint, and start it before I even get home.
Not going to be a late night tonight again. This paint thing really has me upset. But such is life, and I'll get over it.
I need to get some supper, so I'll try to check in before I fall asleep ;)
My capachinno was really good this morning. Having another one now. I am putting my D-Ribose in it and drinking it. I am using decaf coffee and not espresso. I need to find some decaf espresso for me. Ok, got to shine my sink now.

Nell, how did you know which product to get, or are they all the same? There were so many of the D-Ribose on there!!

Just wanted to say hi!! Glad things are going well. Going to step 1 sometimes just gives you the jump start you need.

Hi SueAnn!! Glad you made it over here finally...I agree that maybe a return to step 1 for either 10 days or a month might jump start you again while you are not able to walk. Thanks for the report on the pie too, sounds like I will have to try it for sure!

Kathy - OMG, I would have a fit if someone painted in my house without asking me first!!! Hopefully the new decor will at least match your rugs and furniture!!

Nell, Kathy, Lisa...ok now, remind me what you are all taking the d-ribose for? Just wondered if I should be taking that too? Sorry I cant remember!!

Lisa - I have a number of cookbooks laying around...I collected them for years, and thinned out the ones I didnt use much when I moved, but still have quite a few! I think that salad sounds so good, so it is your job to try it and let us know! LOL Im not sure I know how to post on the recipe thread, but I will see what I can do to try!

Nell - OMG, you are getting ready to put up your tree? Well, Im sure it will be nice for you to get to have two celebrations this year! Im still trying to figure out how I am going to survive just one! hmmm no GRINCH smiley!

Well, I finally got threw all the posts! it has been a couple of days since I could get on and really read:headache:. But on a good note I have gotten all my exercise in this week except 1 day and that is ok since we have to do it 5 days a wk and not 7 :lmao:

Something interesting is this, my father-in-law has been at my house helping my Hubby do some work, and today he was here at lunch time... Oh no! what to serve??? Well,,, I did serve him a nice lunch.. A MM lunch hehe;) He didn't even notice! It was chopped steak with green peppers&onions (grilled) Green beans and a small salad! He acted like he enjoyed it:laughing:

But other than that my days have been about the same, trying to get into my mind what is a good way to start off step 2, ours (my family and I ) start it the wk of Thanksgiving, and we are choosing not to cheat on that day, so I was wondering how to get step 2 started without having a back slide,,

Anyone have any tips for us so we don't have to go back to step 1 for a detox? Of course would like to avoid that if possible, I know that some of you have had to do that and was wondering if anyone had any advice to give us??

Easy. I got the cheap one! :lmao:

SueAnn - I am glad to see you have joined us. I'm sorry about your foot. Hopefully you can do some weights or something at the gym.

Do you tend to like it after it is done? If not, they would be repainting it in a color I liked.

I'm glad you liked your cappuccino. That stuff is normally too strong for me.

I had someone ask me today if I was losing weight.:goodvibes That's the first non-family member to notice. I told her yes and explained MM to her. She sounds like she could use it. Maybe we'll have a new convert.:woohoo:

Hi Melanie - maybe its a good idea to wait to start step 2 until after the holiday? It really does take some adjustment to et used to step 2, so if you try to start at the holiday and slip up, you would be back to step 1 anyway...just a thought! The easiest way to ease into step 2 is to keep with the step 1 meals you are having now, and then add in the 11-20 carb. The timing is still 5 hours on step 2, but there is no stacking of carbs...so the basic idea is to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner ( do NOT have to be 5 hours apart) and have an 11-20 at each meal. If it will be LONGER than 5 hours in between you have to have an 11-20 "carb dam". So if you have lunch at 12, then dinner is at 6, you have to throw in an extra 11-20 before 5pm...then go ahead and have the next one at 6 with your dinner. Confusing? Just a bit! Then you need to have a bedtime snack within the next 5 hours after dinner, and most of us are waking up during the nite to have another 11-20 to prevent the liver from dumping that "bagels worth of glycogen" before breakfast. I am doing it this way...if you can set a schedule of eating times for yourself it works easier...
8:30am - breakfast with an 11-20
1pm - lunch with an 11-20
5:30 - dinner with an 11-20
10:30pm - snack with an 11-20
3:30am - set alarm and have another 11-20.

I can still have legal step 1 foods in between if I am hungry too. the trick is to keep it simple in the beginning...11-20 foods most of us have been using include whole grain crackers, whole grain tortilla chips, legal whole grain bread, Atkins bars, 1/2 cup brown rice or 1/2 cup whole grain pasta, or a piece of legal fruit, like apple, pear, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce. Be very careful reading your labels when shopping for 11-20 foods...your crackers, breads, chips, etc MUST have 2g fiber to be legal! And you have to portion out your crackers, chips etc too...I buy the whole grain wheat thins and take the box home and put 11 crackers into each snack size zip lock, so I cant slip and have too many or too little! Same with tortilla chips....And the other thing we found difficult was that you need to be sure to eat some protein with your 11-20, so you arent just eating 11-20 carb dams all day!! If I have crackers, I will have a string cheese with them. In the middle of the night I have a cup of skim milk as it goes down easy!!

Help you at all?:confused3:)

Wow Bev, thats great! Doesnt it feel good when someone notices!!:cool1:

I know Natalie is away, but where is Barb?
