MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Leaving early on Saturday for Disney!! Problem is if my husband brings his laptop I can read message here but for some reason I can't post. I"m going to try to figure out what I'm doing wrong!! So if you don't hear from me, know I'll be trying to keep up while I'm away!!

Love you guys:lovestruc

I am so jealous!! I can't wait for Spring. That's when we are going again. You are going to have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

I need a hot bath - can't get warm! What if you have a not so early dinner and then you are tired early? I can't figure out if I need to eat a snack before bed if I go soon.

Barb: Did you reach your director?

Evening Lisa. Yes, finally this afternoon. It killed me to have to wait all day to tell her. I tried to call my DH but he was outside and didn't answer. That's when I came here and posted to you all, I had to tell someone :rotfl: My director sounded very happy and relieved. The prosecutor's office is in the process of setting up the protocols now so it will still be several weeks before we get to sit down with them and go over the details. We have done similar work for them in the past so it will be an easy startup.

The weirdest thing happened today. After I got this good news, I had a thought pop into my head about what we could have for dinner and dessert tonight to celebrate  I haven't used food in relation to my emotions for so long that it really hit me. Tonight when I got home we had some decaf coffee with Jocelyn's low carb Irish Cream, then pot roast, salad and broccoli. That and good conversation was our celebration :thumbsup2

I was stumped by that often on step2 because I go to bed fairly early. Usually if it was at least 2 hours after dinner I went ahead and had my snack :confused3

Jocelyn: I kept forgetting to say awesome on looking slim in the outfit the other day when your friend noticed. I'm renewing my efforts to find the black soy beans. They didn't have them at Trader Joes. Keep a list in case there is anything you want me and Kate to bring you in Feb. when we meet. You'll have to pack a separate suitcase full of food items!:dance3:

Thanks Lisa!! Do you have a Raley's in the area? They were in the health food section in Jackson. I now buy the black soy beans dried and cook them in the crock pot - that's because Safeway quit carrying them in cans!! At least they have the dried beans. If there is an Oriental food store you could call and see it they have them.

I noticed a couple of you were going to Ross and Marshall's. If you like the Da Vinci syrups you might look in the food section. They ususally have then for a really good price.

Nell - There are 4 Tablespoons to a 1/4 cup.

There's a button on the laptop that makes the keyboard not work. Make sure that's not pressed.

Thank you Jocelyn! That's going to make it really easy!

I figured something out too! All of the applesauce single serving containers are 1/2 cup exactly. I compared them with the measuring cup. I'm washing them and saving them now. Since so many of the step two carbs are measured in 1/2 cup portions it will make it a whole lot easier if I want to freeze or refrigerate exact portions.

I thought you had a hot tub? That would warm you up. :)

Well, pushed myself through an hour on the treadmill, no weights for tonite! Ken is on his way to the airport to head BACK to China, so me and the little dog are going to turn in early! ( early for US anyway, LOL)

Natalie - have a great time at Disney, Like there is any way you wouldnt!!

::MickeyMo::MinnieMopluto::tinker::smickey:

Cindy - have you guys ever done the P90X before? OMG, it will KICK your BUTT BAD! That is a really tough program, especially if you havent worked up to it a bit! I will scout the sale aisles for Bengay to send you!

Barb - I am SO jealous of your coffee with the irish cream! I have to get busy and make some this weekend....I LOVE that stuff! So Glad you had a great day and a wonderful celebration minus the cake!!:flower3:

Nell - that is a really great idea to reuse the applesauce cups! Im starting that too, since I cook ahead and never have enough of the little tupperware thingies around when I need them! They will be perfect for me since almost all my food for the day ends up having to be "mobile" and go with me to work.:thumbsup2

Lisa - OK you got me again, as usual! I am stopping all the mushiness and sappy stuff right now!! Im giving MYSELF a cavity, so cant imagine what its doing to you guys!!:drive: Thats me driving you guys crazy...LOL! So sorry you have to postpone Thanksgiving, at least its only for a day.

OMG, I just realized that I start Step 2 again on Sunday, so I can start having my SHAKEOLOGY for breakfast!! YAY, lots of veggies and things I would never eat in a million years (kelp, weird grass) in one nice chocolate shake!!:woohoo:

I feel like yuk tonight. It's the second day on step two so maybe I'm having issues as my liver refills. I keep flirting with a headache. I took my two aspirin 1 Tylenol mix. That usually seems to do it. I am setting the clock for every 4.5 hours still and having my 11-20 carb when the alarm goes off. It seems to be working well for now. My next feeding is 1am. I don't care that it's waking me for now. Down the road I might start making a meal schedule. Especially if I start school, I'm going to need to. I don't mind so much with my awesome table! Yes, small things thrill me to no end! :rotfl: I am resisting taking a photo of my table and posting it for everyone, so I'm doing good. :lmao:

I did ok with the oatmeal, but Jocelyn's suggestion is going to make it much easier. I think it was more than one person who suggested I use flax meal to bulk it up, and it worked great! I couldn't even taste it with the cinnamon! So, let's see today I had

1. 6 triscuts with hi fiber all fruit and a Nathan's dog. 11:30
2. egg sandwich on a 5 carb wrap and 1 pack sf applesauce 4pm
3. oatmeal and scambled eggs 8:30 pm

(I know that's a lot of eggs and I will change that when I get to go shopping this weekend)

So tonight:
4. Smoothie with ingredients added to bring it between 11-20 carbs. 1am
5. Applesauce 5:30am
6. Breakfast 10am

My only issue is being able to wake up at 10am. Hopefully I can sleep tonight. If I cannot wake up I'll replace breakfast with another applesauce and go back to sleep again at 10.

Good nite Pony!

Ok, I forgot the stupid vegetables again! I just threw spinach into the smoothie. :) Not nearly as interesting as the vegetables in Robin's Shakology, but it does the trick.

Good Night Daniele - I hope you wake up feeling better. You are introducing a lot more carbs back into your system so there will be some changes you might not like and holding onto water will be one of them. You will definiteley feel heavier for a bit, but then it will go away.

I didn't get much accomplished today - but there is always tomorrow!! It was too warm to do much cooking so I spent the afternoon at the pool. I had it to myself - just lovely.:)

Hope everyone else had a great night's sleep. I'll "see" you later in your day!!

Love to ALL:love:

Good morning everyone. Thank you for taking mercy on my eyes. Only had 1 page to catch up on from last night!! :thumbsup2

Nell, I remember a few people saying how tired they were when starting phase 2. Can't remember how long it took to "feel better" but I remember they did. Just listen to your body.

Lisa, the D-Ribose, does it matter if I take it in pill form or powder? I can do pills better than powder I think.

About the oatmeal. The packets if I remember right, aren't as good as the old fashioned oatmeal that you have to cook.
It has been ground down so much to "quick cook" that the fiber in it has been broken down as well.
Nell, love the applesauce cup idea also. I will be saving those when I get to step 2.
Nell, also wondering if you decided to get the book or just wing it? I haven't had much chance to really read mine yet, but from what I've read, this sounds like me to a T. I woke up this morning feeling as though I had slept on a pile of rocks. It usually takes me a few hours to "limber up" before I go to work. I must have slept somewhat good, as I remember dreaming, and I know that is the REM stage of sleep, the deep, restorative sleep. Not feeling too bad this morning.
Ok, need to get ready for work instead of :surfweb:
I'll catch up with you all later. Sorry my last post was sooo long guys! I didn't realize how long it was until I looked at it this morning!!
Also, for your crockpots, if you like creamy chicken "noodle" soup, use cream of chicken or mushroom or celery soup in the crockpot. Just put your chicken in, a can of the soup and cook. Don't add any water. I used to make this a lot for my oldest DD. When I got home from work, I'd boil the noodles and add to the mixture.
Hugs  to everyone and it's Friday :woohoo:

Good Morning...yukky rainy weather here, so it feels like the kind of day to put your jammies back on and go back to bed! :surfweb:

Kathy - looksl ike its just you and me awake! Well, Im not sure I read your post right or not...you havent read the book? Do you mean the MM book or something else? OMG...I read my book like once a week, and on step 1 it was like every few days!!

Nell - I think you are definitely feeling those side effects that Diane tells us about when starting step 2...and like step 1, it seems that some get them and some dont...but I think just about everyone felt kinda bloated or fluffier the first few days, and I know for me it was 5 days before I felt lighter again. Judging by what I can remember Lisa and Sandra saying, it also seems that it is 5 weeks or so before you really feel step 2 kick in the weight loss again too...I am sort of hoping that with all my new exercise, that it wont take so long, but who knows?:confused3 I know you are trying to get some sort of schedule in place and it sounds like you are doing a great job of it, just be sure to get those veggies in somewhere, plus dont forget that other than your middle of the night snack, you really should get some protein along with your 11-20...that was my biggest problem, I just kept throwing in the 11-20 carbs, and felt so full I wasnt eating much else! It definitely threw my blood sugar off and hence my re-run of step 1!

Now I know what to expect and am determined to make up a daily schedule and follow it exactly, even if it feels like I am shoveling food in!

Kathy - I got my new TSO "Night Castle" CD yesterday...OMG it is as awesome as all the others!! So Pony is officially in the Christmas mood now, listening to TSO will always do it for me!! Just keep those darn malls away!

Good Morning All, Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I'm working half a day today and then my weekend begins. Meeting some friends for dinner tonight. Which brings me to a thought. I knew I was in this for the long haul when I went out for dinner last weekend , ordered salad with dressing on the side. I dipped my fork in the dressing rather than pour the dressing over my salad. I was so proud of myself and it's amazing how little dressing you really need. Well, have a great MM day.

Nice try, Kate! Can I count wiggling into clothes at Ross as part of my exercise? I bought 3 out of 3! One really sexy sweater.:woohoo: Really, it's kinda classy, but hubby will think it's sexy.:rolleyes1

DH works for Ross. He has been with the company for three years. He manages one of the local stores. Given the economic times, the company has done really well the last few years. I have never worked in the corporate world but in my opinion, he works really, really hard and doesn't get rewarded for it. In September, they were putting new shelving in his store and he had to work ALL night long for 5 nights in a row plus put in a most of his normal hours during the day while the store was open. They are doing something else to the store in a few week and he will be working from 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m the following day (double shifts). It is always about the numbers for the company and his store always has the best numbers for his "zone" (the zone includes 4 or 5 local districts) and it doesn't seem to mean anything. Well, I guess it means that he has a job. I just feel bad for him. He is burned out.

Kathy - was it you that mentioned a website for quitting smoking? I have a friend that is really trying to quit and she is really having a hard time. I know that she would appreciate any ideas. I paid for her to try the Chantix (sp?) about two years ago and she couldn't handle the side effects.

Robin - I am glad that Ken is going back to China. At least you will be able to talk on the phone. I love that he got promise rings. What a thoughtful, sweet guy. You definitely have a keeper! You certainly won't need a wedding planner with all of us to help you!
