MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

Ok... I have proof now that my body is bizarre. I lost 3 or so pounds and I'm on the second day of step two? I had been stuck at 310 for over a month. Now I'm 307

Cindy, I'm going to throw a thought out to you. You are so busy with all you do and those you care for. Are you feeling a lot of daily stress? I was thinking about how for years I got through days on shear will and stress alone and boy did I hold onto weight back then. Could this be hindering your loss perhaps? Just a thought, I hope this is not the case and that your new workout routine does the trick!

Hi Pam - Yes, my job is very stressful. I have to juggle working from home and taking care of the kids. It is very difficult and some times very overwhelming. I was wondering that too, but then I thought when my first husband died, I lost 20 lbs. Could be different stress?:confused3

Good day to everyone,

I haven't posted much here. Don't have a lot to say. But enjoy reading
all the posts. Everyone seems to have big encouragement here. So hope
there will be light in the tunnel for me. :thumbsup2 I am still in week 5 of
Step l. Dreading the holidays, of course . Everyone have a good MM day
and everyone keep up the good will power.

Honeygram

Good to see you Honey!:lovestruc

That makes me wonder if you were eating enough on step1..Maybe your body thought you were starving it and wanted to hang on to every little fat cell. This may be a sign that step2 will be awesome for you (looking for crossing my fingers smilie)

Wise thought, Barb.

I'm hustling around trying to get stuff done at work before I leave at noon today. I'm on vacation until 11/9 :woohoo: My son and his wife are coming over Sunday and spending the night and then we pick up my daughter at the airport on Monday  We'll be having Thanksgiving on an off day too Lisa. It's not about the day, it's about being thankful for your life and the people you share it with, Huh ? I'll be able to check in with you all sporatically but you're always in my thoughts

:wave2:Good day everyone!

I just wanted to pop in for a minute to get caught up and say Hi to everyone. :teeth: I don't dare stay away for more than a day because it's nearly impossible to get caught back up with you all! lol

Audri is coming here today!! :yay: All my work is caught up, doctor appointments out of the way and this granny gets to sit and hold her for days and days!! I do feel kind of bad for the other grandparents, my son refuses to spend any time over at their place because they just don't have room for extra bodies. I think I'll survive that decision!:teeth:

I'm going to go back and address a few of your post's so bear with me! If you don't see me for a few days, you all know where I'll be! lol:cloud9:

I got goosebumps thinking about you holding Audri!

Thank would be a good case scenario Barb! Thanks for the idea. I hope your right!

Good evening everyone. I hope all is well with you all.

Natalie, have fun on vacation. Give tigger a hug for me. I guess pooh also LOL.

Robin, LOL, the book I was talking about is the From Fatigued to Fantastic book. I've read the MM book sooo many times I lost count!!
I am patiently waiting for my cd. I usually get it for Christmas, but as an early gift. Can't wait!! Just download it onto you ipod and shop till you drop!!

Stwill, I have done that with my dressing for years. I forget where I first read about it, but it's so true. You barely use any at all!! Except for vinegrettes or italian, which I put a couple teaspoons on the salad directly. But creamy ones I do the fork thing. And you get dressing in every bite!!

Kate, the site was www.quitnet.com It is awesome and I credit them with helping me through the rough first month. They are like us, very personable. I actually have a coupe good friends from there I still talk to almost daily. Let her know my screen name is Katey66 and to send me a private message (they call them qmails) and I'll be more than happy to "buddy up" with her. Also, tell her in the library, there is a downloadable copy of the book
"The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" by Allan Carr. It really helps with the mental part.
I know what you're saying about recognition in retail. It stinks big time. Lowes was the worst I think. It was all about budget, sales, and all that crap. Please tell your husband we are sending a huge thank you for taking the time to better the store for some of us!!

Robin, now I know why Nationwide is by our side. You never have a day off!!

Lisa, thank you for the input. I forgot about you saying it had a sweet taste. I will get the powder. I just wasn't sure if I missed something in the book that may tell me how many pills if available. I will be picking it up today.

There is a really good tea called The Republic of Tea. It's really good, but expensive. I had gotten some free samples. I do like red tea though. It's to be as good as green tea. Maybe something to ask Diane?

I am sipping some green tea now. It is Lipton decaf green tea. I got the powdered D-Ribose, so I only put that in it. It is pretty weak till I get used to it.
Ok, going to get some supper. Oh, went to the health food store and they had a bunch of the sami low carb wraps. I bought 3 packages of them. Put 2 in the freezer. The cashier told me they get their shipment in on Fridays. So that will now be on my list of things to do Friday. Sami seems to go fast there, and don't want me to run out. I NEED my sami LOL.
I also found the polaner jelly your all talking about. I got the apricot. They will be a freebie. The raspberry had 2 net carbs, so if I get tired of the apricot, I'll get that and use as a 5x5.
Nell, great on the loss. Maybe you weren't eating enough. Did you dance last night, or was that today? I hope you didn't over do it.
Feeling pretty wiped out today. I think too many good days in a row I think. Really achy all over, and my knee is swelled. I can hardly bend it.
Lisa, can I come over and use the hot tub? Just turn it up to about 101* for me. LOL
I will take a nice long hot bath. Wish I had a claw foot tub at least. Then I could fill it really full.
Ok, going to get some more of my chicken soup.
Nell or Lisa, did either of you figure out if the D-Ribose is to be a 5x5? I treated it as one, even though it's in my tea.
Thanks.
I'll catch up later guys

Kathy: I'm having green tea, D-ribose, Whole Grain Wheat Thins and herbed cheese spread settling down to read the posts for the afternoon and it's been quiet! I'm counting my ribose just to be really safe. I make my 11-20's no higher than 15 anyway, so I put it in at a good time to add.
Hope that helps!
You guys please look at that youtube video on milk - especially those of you with kids or grandkids. It applies to all dairy, so cheese also. It's not your granny's dairy anymore.

Thank you Lisa. I can't wait to go to step 2 to have what you're having. The tea I made isn't very strong. Just dunked the bag in about 5 times.
I remember being a kid and going to thee town where a local farm and getting fresh cow milk. It was soo good. Wish I still could.
The town where mom and I went to the fall festival has a cheese house. They make all their own cheese. I am thinking I should get my cheese there from now on. I wonder if they have milk too? May have to check next week.

Hi Nell,

I'm not happy on step 2, this is the 2nd time starting step 2 and I start having potty problems  My IBS does better on step 1.

I just read this week's Woman's World and there was an article stating that a lot of people diagnosed with IBS really have Celiac and should be tested for that. Adding all the crackers, pastas, etc could be brutal for you if that is the case. I know I do not do well with a lot of wheat products so just try to avoid them.

Uttt Ohhhh - just don't be upset if you get a completely different number next time!! We are sooooo conditioned to the scale. I think it is too bad we don't see a downward slide on this WOE on the scale. It would be a LOT more motivating. :goodvibes

Just remember - you keep saying how much more you are doing and how much better you feel:banana::banana: That is the YAY moment.:yay::yay:

Pam: The main reason for Diane recommending green tea is for metabolism. You might want to google it? Have you only tried one kind of green tea? There's peach, mint...?? Mint is really good. That iced tea I love comes in mint and lemongrass, which are both great, but the big bottles come in plain and green jasmine, only, I think.

Is there an amount we should be drinking daily? I couldn't find that in the book.

Ask them if they inject their cows with growth hormones. They do it to get more milk and it stays in the milk and humans drink it. Bad news. I was so good about getting everything like that organic and then we went low fat and I haven't looked to see if I can get reduced fat, organic cheese, but I am going to right away. We don't drink cows milk so it's the cheese I need to figure out.
