MM registration..

I swear they could do this whole thing SO MUCH BETTER via lottery. All they need to do is
  • collect registration/interest forms online for a few weeks up to the "lottery selection date,"
  • remove duplicates,
  • select recipients randomly (or even account for those who have never gone and give them preference),
  • and then notify those who were selected and those who weren't
There's no need to cause this much anxiety and make a bunch of people shuffle their schedules for a just-as-random "place-in-line" queue-it system like this. It's soooo dumb.

Looks like there is a proper issue with their system for this one. I got in with 9 minutes to go, and it was moving pretty fluidly. FB full of people saying that they got to the front and was told that they had no valid reservation despite having so.

Now it's paused, I can only imagine so they can look into it ASAP.

As for how they can fix it? Whatever they do, not everyone will be happy. If they just resume now, people that were kicked out will be upset. If they postpone to a new date, those still in the paused queue will be upset. So there is no golden answer - someone, somewhere is going to be disappointed.

Come on Disney, do better. As Mickey would say.... "Oh Boy"

There's been a technical issue and we are working to get this resolved as soon as possible. Please continue to hold, do not refresh or exit out of your screen.

This is ridiculous. I booked my trip around this event with flights, etc. I took a day off of work so I could register only to see this queue paused. There are no answers or updates. Are we seriously supposed to wait all day by our computers?!

The crazy thing is you can't even get in the que if you don't have a reservation to begin with...

Why the double check?

Is Disney IT being run by state farm and they are doing a discount double check?

OK so looks like they're gonna resume. Here we go...

Just so you think it through - planning around these events is a terrible plan. I've gotten burned like that twice moving my dates so we could get to one, and we never get in.
In addition I end up taking off work to sit in the queue. DVC clearly doesn't care about inconveniencing members on issues like this, so I wouldn't invest in one of these before you got admission.

Funny thing - I said to my partner "that accepted the member number VERY quick" right after we submitted it. Almost like there was no cross referencing the membership number had a reservation. I do not work in IT so cannot confirm, but it was lightning fast. Would not be surprised if it failed that initial check.
Edit: Theory dismissed.

The check was working - I have two memberships and it rejected the one without a reservation before the start.
