MLK weekend??

I am planning on going to wdw in January. I know there are no discounts out yet for Jan. Just wondering if in the past, if MLK weekend was included in any discouts. I have flexibility but I was planning on booking soon. So if traditionally it is excluded I may book a different weekend in hopes of getting a discount later. Thanks

It was 2008 when we went and the discount then wasn't blacked out but that may have changed. The crowds were very manageable, though. The weekend is more crowded than the surrounding weeks, but it was a jump from absolutely dead, slowest I've ever seen the parks during the week to value season late-Aug moderate crowd levels on the weekend.

We went over MLK weekend this year and the 40% off deluxes GP code did not have that weekend blacked out - much to my surprise!

In fact, we were scheduled to arrive the Weds. before MLK weekend but due to a huge blizzard heading toward the NE, we left a day early. My parents called to add a night at the Poly and they were given the discount even though the code had expired - I thought that was really great of Disney to do that!

Thanks so much for your replys. That is great to know you both had discounts. I am worried about snow as well, since coming from the NE. I am debating if early or late Jan is better, probably does not change the risk of snow much though. How does airfare work if you decided to go early due to snow, did the airlines charge a change of flight fee????

Crowds don't look too bad. I think I have been at busier times.
