This is my first dining report. I have a link in my signature to my first trip report too ~ check it out.

INTRODUCTIONS:

My DD, Kimpup and I, MLinDisney are celebrating my retirement from 25 years of teaching and her graduating with an MBA!! We did it up big with the DDxDP. I think those are the initials? Here we are at JFK:

Kimpup is on the left and I am on the right. For those who are not reading my trip report, we got those shirts from ebay, but you can get them from the same seller on Etsy.

Love it! Looking forward to it! We leave in 6 days with some of the same ADR's (and the DxDP).

We arrived at the airport (Jet Blue terminal 5) at around 4:15 or so for our 5:40 flight. After checking luggage and going through security, we hadn't eaten dinner, we were hungry, and stopped at Deep Blue. This is a seafood type of restaurant. A little pricey but great food. We ordered drinks.

Kimpup, on left, ordered white wine. I ordered an orange peel martini, which was delish and very strong. Notice the shirts! The waiter took this photo.

We each ordered an appetizer and shared an entrée. We tasted each other's appie and entrée, as we did the entire trip.

My appetizer:

I forgot the name of this. Seared scallops. I ate one of the scallops before I took the photo, which happened during the entire trip report! I forgot what was inside the crispy wonton in the middle. I looked for the menu online and couldn't find it. this was very good!

DD had:

Sushi. It was a spicy tuna roll and a tuna roll. DD said they were great very fresh. I didn't try one of these. I only like certain types of sushi like California rolls.

We shared this entrée:

Pad thai. I love pad thai and this was very well prepared.

At this point it was around 5:15. We figured they started the boarding process because our flight was 5:40. It took us a few minutes to walk to the gate and They were announcing final boarding call!!! Can you imagine if we missed our flight because we decided to eat? But we boarded and it didn't take off until a little before 6:00.

After checking in we decided to have the tie/dye cheesecake that we read so much about on Disboards.

It looks attractive. And it was ok. I guess I'm used to the Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes.

I would rate this and DD rates it only for the presentation since it’s so pretty. By the way We will be rating the food selections with 1-5 thumbs up.
We weren't on the dining plan yet, so we paid for this and two bottles of water with our Disney rewards card! - $9.04

NEXT UP - Breakfast: EVERYTHING POP

The next day we woke up and went to Everything POP for breakfast. It was 6 am and we wanted to eat, take a walk around POP, and head for the Poly. The dining area was huge, but all of the food service areas weren't open yet. We decided to get one of our selections, then go over and wait for the window for breakfast pizza to open. So we got coffee and...

The bounty platter.
Just as we picked up the bounty platter and coffee, the window for breakfast pizza was open and here it is:

We shared both of these. Eggs, biscuit and bacon were very good. DD doesn't eat breakfast meat. I like bacon better than sausage patties. The pattie was just ok.
I loved this breakfast pizza! Very creamy and tasty! The bread was flat and crunchy! I give it DD also gave it considering she doesn't eat bacon that’s good!
The bounty platter was also good. I give it and DD gave it
We weren't on the dining plan so we paid for this and two cups of coffee with our Disney Rewards Card: $20.31

I love that you celebrated together with a Mom/Daughter trip. I am planning on a Mom/Daughters (I have two DDs) to celebrate the older daughter earning her Bachelor's degree in June 2013. I can't wait.
