MLB Postseason Thread

Sir, I would have assumed you to be a Yankees fan! :teeth:

We'll have to hope our Rookie with the great baseball name (Boof Bonser) can take on the A's and do what Johan couldn't yesterday. Actually, Johan didn't pitch badly, it's just that Zito pitched better, and the Twins bats were silenced.

I can understand a Tigers fan being against the Twins, but as a Twins fan, I'm definitely rooting for the Tigers against the Yankees! Besides, if the Twins don't get past the first round, I want it to be the Tigers or A's in contention for the World Series! I hate the thought of another subway series.

Interesting day, but I think the only team with a must win today is the Twins, since you're supposed to win at home, and they already blew one. If they lose, I think they're out.

I'll worry about the NL when they have at least 1 of the 4 teams that make the playoffs have a winning record against the AL...

Diane, I'd love to see a Twins/Yankees ALCS. I have the utmost respect for the Twins. As an organization they always seem to get the most out of their players, but being a true blue Yankee fan I can't root for them anymore. ;)

Well, the Mets announced that John Maine will be starting today's game. El Duque will not pitch in the first round at all.

How did I miss this thread????

Go Cards.... :cool1:

While I am a Tiger fan, and have been for 40+ years, I don't like our chances in this series very much. I guess I'll soon be reduced to pulling for whomever is playing the Yankees. I have hated those scoundrels since the Reggie Jackson days. May they never win another World Series no matter how much money they spend. pirate: (OK.... feeling much better now.... you may resume your civil thread)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc The Mets have won the first game :woohoo:  :jumping1:

Ok, I will contain my excitement for now.

I know! I was on the train home when the game was finally over. I don't think my 45 yr old heart can take this!

I say "GO CARDS" too. I would like to see us advance but I don't think so. Besides the media is rooting for everyone to lose except the Yankees and Mets. Have a midwest team in the World Series? Heaven forbid....a media nightmare. :sad2:

Four tickets in the upper stands (2 rows from the top of the stadium)$220.00
Four hot dogs $20.00
Four sodas $20.00

LOL! Lots of folk across the country feel the same way. How much pride is there in "buying" a championship team? Around here, we grow our own! :teeth:

My post copied from another thread:

So many Jealous Yankee haters out there! Not speaking directly to this threads alone..I've have seen other threads as well.

The haters always fall back on the salaries. FYI-The Mets have a significant payroll too, as do the BoSox and the Angels. IT Alwasy seems to be these teams fans that talk the most "payroll" smack.

This year it's garbage anyway b/c alot of the big $$ players were out half the season anyway. And A-Rod was relatively useless for a chunk of the season too. We got here with quite a few newbies. Cabrera, Wang (semi rookie), Cano...

So PLEASE w/the payroll envy.
