We're going to be at CR for the first time.
I want to see the castle -- that is all I really want. I just want to wake up, look at the window, and see Cindy's house.
What type of room do I need to request?

We had a tower room in December and requested a castle view. It was amazing! It was so nice to be able to look out at the Kingdom whenever we were in the room and the fireworks view was fantastic.

It was my first time staying there so I don't know what the views are like from the garden wings.

Well, to see MK, you'd have to stay in the Tower. Are you booked in the Tower or one of the wings?

If you are booked in the Tower, all you have to do is request it when you make the reservation. Say "I'd like a Magic Kingdom view, if possible". They'll make a note of it but they do NOT guarantee it. They will, however, try to accommodate you.

I stayed in the Tower 2 years ago and that was my only request and I was lucky enough to get it.

It's really not possible to get a good view of MK in the Wings. You can sometimes see the fireworks but I don't think you can see the Castle.

Hi Shells!
We loved the CR so much, we've already booked it for the January marathon!

Two weeks ago, we stayed in CR Tower and were given an ODD numbered room and MK side !
I went to sleep every night watching the castle change colors, and woke up in the middle of the night,,,,,,still changing colors, and in the am...there it WAS....in all it's GLORY!

Have fun in the "toaster"!

I must say, this is one of the MOST MAGICAL views in all of WDW. We are not even "view" people. The only time we ever go out on the balcony is when we first check in. BUT when we stayed at the CR last November and had a MK view... it was out of this world. I could lay in bed and watch the castle change colors. I would actually quiz my husband as to what color the castle was at that moment. You can watch the monorail wiz by. It was just so much fun.

You will love it!:D

I can only speak from my experience, but my wife and I were at the CR in Feburary and got a Garden room with a view of the castle. Don't quite remember the room number, but I'll see if I can find anything with it documented when I get home today.

I want to second what Master Gracie said. We have stayed in a (North) Garden Wing room with a great view of the castle and fireworks.

Wow, I'm really surprised. I didn't know this! I tell you, you learn something new everyday on this board!

I had a North Wing room in 2000 and it faced the parking lot and we could see the fireworks but not MK. So that is why I thought that. It must be the rooms further down?

Triple that!!

We, too, had a nice view of the castle, space mtn & the fireworks from our North wing window! We were on the 2nd floor, about 1/2 way down.

Add us to the Nwing standard(not in my opinion ;) view) we were on the first floor and had a great view....rm#8928. Incredibly clean, like new condition, this was July of '01. It was also VERY nice to be paying $139 for that fab view....I wanna go back!!!!! Now I have never stayed in the tower so I can't compare the view there to the wing, but I can say we were completely satsfied with our view, and did not feel at all like we needed more. Of course, we love to sit and play *what color monorail train is coming next* and we had that view as well....I like having the patio on the ground level, kids fed ducks in their jammies each a.m....and when we saw the view at first you think the trees/landscaping will obstruct it...but I'll be darned if those trees aren't planted just right as to give you a clear shot of MK!

Thanks to everyone for posting about the garden wing views. I changed my reservation last week from the WL to the CR garden wing. I had requested a view of MK, but I kept reading horrible things about the rooms and the views. I even called back to see if a tower room was available with the Disney Visa discount (it's not!) I was almost ready to call and change back to the WL!! Now I'll stick with CR and hope for the best!!

I think I will call and try to change to Tower. I think we have garden now, and I just can't take any chances, lol! Gotta see that castle!:D

I think that's a good idea but just remember that even in the Tower, the MK view is not guaranteed. But I really believe the view of MK from the Tower is quite different than the view of MK from the Wings.

The view from our Tower room (MK view) was AMAZING! Not only can you see ALL of MK but you can see the whole lagoon with GF and the Poly. It's just wonderful.

I'm going to send you some pixie dust for an MK view!:wizard:
