Ok, we bring our yorkie ever time we go to Disney which is once to twice a year. We have done this for maybe five to 7 years. We have tried the MK and Fort Wilderness kennels, but pulled her out of them and went back to the EPCOT kennel. It is the only one as far as we are concerned. We to live in NC. So we drive. We can stay up to 12 days at a time. The EPCOT kennel does walk dogs for a fee $2.50 per walk. They always put Twinky, our dog, in the largest cages they have. We bring her towels and her dog bed. Whatever comforts of home we think of. The last time she started throwing up about the second day. They immediately changed her from tap water to bottled water. They say some dogs react to the different tap water from there usual. If she went in her cage, they cleaned it up. We did all the feeding. We brought chicken and rice mix. Kept it in their freezer and thaw a few pouches at a time. No, that is not her usual diet. Usual it is Iams dry food. But with most dogs she gets nervous by the change in environment. We know she will eat that for sure and vets recommend that for sick dogs anyway.
Our problem is this. Twinky as most yorkies are prone to digestive problems. If we left her at the vets kennel at home, we would come home to some huge vet bills. If not then, then the day after we got home. While the EPCOT kennel is different for her, she gets to see us and that helps a huge amount. We are sure to go once a day, if not twice and then we have them walk her onceor twice. If works out good for us. We also have small children so we normally go back to our DVC resort during the day. We love having her with us and we think she enjoys being there. The EPCOT kennel does a great job with the animals and are very helpful. We recommend it. Other than the one throw up last summer we have never had an problems with her being there.
I hope this opinion helps some of you.
