MK today

Have any of you ever tried to carry multiple open bags while pushing a stroller or wheelchair? I take forever going through bag check because we have more than one bag-- one of which has medical equipment that will fall out if I unzip it not on a surface, and one of which is attached to my daughter. I get lots of nasty looks because of the time it takes to search my things. It would be nice if people were less judgmental once in a while.

Wow! The World scored a perfect 10 yesterday...all four parks at level 10. Now I get to be grateful that it was only 8's and 9's (with a 6 thrown in here and there) during our trip two weeks ago! Hope today is less crowded for everyone there now.

Those long bag lines could be shortened if people would actually only have one person get in line with all the bags, pay attention and quit texting on your phone, get your bag open and unzipped, no strollers, and go on both sides of the tables. I got in a line last week where there were not two lines for each station and one woman was talking to her child in the stroller instead of putting her stuff on the table, so I went ahead of her. She shot off a glance - but seriously, there are hundreds of people behind you - get your stuff ready!! I learned to go to the line that had whole families in them because they usually only had one or two bags.

I actually think it's more efficient if each person brings their own bag through. That way they can have everything open and unzipped when it's their turn. One person holding bags for an entire group would take forever to get all the pockets and bags open then shut again.

I avoided the MK yesterday after seeing posts of crowd lines on social media. We went to AK and bag check lines were pretty long. Security was taking extra time with each bag and asking if people had anything sharp in the bags. Did they ask that and take extra care in checking bags at MK too?

Noticed that TSM and Soarin are both already over 90 minutes posted wait at 8:50 am ET. Looks like it's going to be another :crowded: day.

Totally agree with, but it is like at the airport-how can you not have your shoes and belt off, your laptop out etc.
But as far as no strollers-thats not their choice-you are forced to have your stroller searched as well.

That's different though because its different at every airport (or even the same airport based on crowd levels). Some requires shoes off, some lets you keep laptops in the bag. Not every security line has someone saying whether or not shoes off/laptops out is required, and some don't even have a sign anymore.

(but I get the sentiment. If people went in prepared it would be much quicker)

Granted, I walked into Epcot 45 minutes before closing, but the hour before Illuminations was actually the least crowded I have ever seen Epcot. I'm sure that once the sun went down and the cold set in people booked it out of there, but I walked up to a prime viewing spot in America <15 minutes from the start and had open spaces on both sides.
Did you really just recommend that people only show up 45 minutes before closing to avoid crowds?

IASW 12-25

Just looking at current wait times and at HS The Great Movie Ride is 45 minutes at 9:30 a.m.. Wow.

If you could bet on such things, I don't think you'd lose $ taking the over on that 5/10. That's been a common theme this fall, and what happened yesterday (actuals in parentheses):

MK 9 (10)
EP 10(10)
HS 9 (10)
AK 7 (10)

I didn't recommend anything - I just stated what happened to me last night. Its no secret that crowds are lighter close to closing, and I was just making an observation that last nights crowds were exceptionally light, presumably because of the weather.

OH. MY. GOD. :guilty: i cannot believe the lines are that long...that is insane!! is it even worth it at that point to wait?! i will absolutely die if it is like this when we go before christmas.

Thanksgiving week typically has big crowds, not as big as Christmas break, but big. The crowds usually get lower the Sunday after Thanksgiving. When are you going? As long as you are going before the 18th when a whole lot of schools across the nation start Christmas break, I don't think it will be as crowded as this week.

15-21. But we booked more heavily in the beginning of the trip and saved the resort days and afternoon tea till the last few days to avoid the heavier crowds

We went the 12th to the 19th one year and it was great! The crowds were lower than when we have been the week after Thanksgiving. Hopefully it won't be too bad for you! I would think that the 15th to 18th would be fine, the 19th will be a travel day for most people so it won't be horribly bad, and then the 20th and 21th will probably be pretty crowded.

True - I think what was being suggested was just anyone who doesn't have a bag to not get into the bag check line. I sent my kids and husband through the no bag line everytime last week and they just checked out the decorations or whatever while waiting for me. I was in line behind entire families though, where only one person had a bag (or there were two bags, but one was a backpack and one was just a purse - still manageable by one person).

We had a security person at the Animal Kingdom yelling to us not to get into the line if we did not have a bag. And still countless husbands got in line beside their wives (who were carrying a tote bag or whatever). The lines moved really fast because less than 50% of the people in line actually had bags. ::shrugs::

Actually the person I quoted suggested having one person get in line with "all the bags".

Me too!! I got to Epcot about 6ish and walked slowly around the WS a couple times, shopped, ate watched British Invasion and found a prime spot for Illuminations just about 10 minutes prior! Working this morning and probably heading to the Studios today.
