We'll be at the MK Wed 5/11. At 1:30 we have a PS for the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian.

Does anybody have a good idea about how long it takes to get from MK to GF starting at the MK entrance?

umbluegray,

Are you talking about walking??

We're staying offsite, so we'll have our van with us.

I assumed that since the GF is a MK resort there must be WDW transportation.

But now that you mention it, we can drive.

We're open to any option.

Thanks

From the MK to the GF you can take the monorail or a boat (Gold Flag Line??). I've never timed either of these options, but I think if it was me I'd be walking out the MK exit at 1:00PM. You'd probably be early, but that's the way I like it, so I don't have to stress.

If you take the Monorail make sure you board the Resort Mono, not the express Mono. The resort mono will stop at the Comtemporary, the Ticket and Transportation Center, and the Poly before the Grand.

The boat will go directly to the Grand but you could wait awhile for it if it is just pulling away as you walk up, probably not more than 20 mins though.

I wouldn't drive as you would still have to take the boat or mono to the parking area and then drive over and park again. I think that would take longer.

There are two ways to get to the GF without driving. The resort monorail which should only take 10-15 mins after you exit the MK. Or you can take the resort launch which is a small boat that goes to the poly and gf. Its a nice boatride if you have the time its on the same side as the monorail entrance. I would not recomend using your car if you plan on going back to the MK. It would take way to long. Have fun.

When we went to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare after a day at MK, we took the boat launch. There was a boat waiting when we got there, and it left just minutes after we got on. It was not full. I didn't realize that the same launch went to the GF and the Poly, but it did stop at the GF first. The boat ride is very quick! What took us longer than anything was finding our way to 1900 Park Fare from the back of the resort. We allowed approx. 45 minutes from entrance of MK until our PS time. We didn't have any problems making that.

Have fun!

Hi! My daughter has a reservation for the same tea party!! That is one of our "floater days" and I'm not sure what park we will be at but when she did the tea party last year we took the ferry over from the MK. It was a fun ride for her!

Ok, so I didn't make myself so clear... she will also be there on the 11th of May.

Wow! It's a Small World! :goodvibes

This will be my daughter's first Disney tea party -- well, other than the one's we share at home with her Mrs. Potts and Chip tea set.

One week prior to that, 5/4, she'll have her very first breakfast with the princesses at Cinderella's Castle.

Heck, I'm as excited as she is!

I hope your daughter has a wonderful time. Maybe we can have our girls say hi.

Normally the gold launches are the quickest way to GF or Poly just because of the length of the monorail stops. The monorail is quickest from GF to MK. There are usually 2 launches on the route and if you miss one, the next should be there within 10-12 min. It's only a 5 min ride.
