MK rides at rope drop, other than 7DMT

We don't really care about getting to 7DMT or A&E at rope drop. My kids like Space Mt and BTMRR. DH and DS go to Space, DD and I go to BTMRR first thing. With all of the Fantasyland craziness, does that take pressure off these rides so we can get through the line a few times?

In the past we've made RD (or shortly after) and have been able to ride BTMRR 3+ times in a row with very minimal wait. Is it still the same? We haven't been to WDW since last August, before FP+ and the new FL attractions.

Thanks!

Yep it's still the same! In fact, lines might be a little shorter due to the Ana and Elsa/SDMT craze. If you use touringplans or easywdw they show waiting times for different days and times based on crowds and from that alone (along with reports here on the Dis) you can see you can easily ride the other mountains with minimal wait up until 10am (given it's not a holiday/high crowd level day). Even still, getting there at rope drop puts you at a huge advantage.

We went in the middle of June. We arrived just before rope drop and after the opening show it took us about 10 minutes to make it through the turnstyles. We walked straight back to Splash Mountain and we were able to ride it and BTMRR twice with no wait at all. I think that we could have ridden each one at least one more time with a fairly minimal wait. :cool1: I think right now a lot of people are heading towards FantasyLand at rope drop to do 7DMT and Anna and Elsa, so FrontierLand is pretty accessible for the first hour or so.:)

When entering Magic Kingdom EVERYONE seems to go straight to Fantasyland, with a few over to Tomorrowland, and practically NO ONE over to Frontierland!

We always like to start by trekking out to Splash & BTMRR to ride multiple times, then crossing over to Tomorrowland before tackling Fantasyland, I'm sure you'll be more than fine!

Thanks for the thread. We usually make a beeline to Fantasyland at RD, but with all the new craziness there, I decided for the first time to head to Frontierland first and FP+ some of the Fantasyland stuff for later. Sounds like I'm on to a pretty sound idea!

BTMR and Splash have definitely benefited in the AM from Disney herding 95% of the crowd to 7DMT and A&E.

Honestly I hope they change the RD procedure back. I realize that a handful of people were tripping over the train tracks or crashing into people every morning running to these attractions. But now we have to suffer through a scary claustrophobic herd of humanity, particularly tough if you have strollers or very young kids. Takes a bit of the magic out of the morning and risks a trampling event anyway.

We did both on our trip last month....one morning we headed to Frontierland the other to Tommorowland. We were able to ride things with no wait (or very minimal) for almost the first hour. We usually got through the turnstiles about 9:15. No matter how hard we try for rope drop, we never make it, lol.
