MK resort beaches closed to Non-resort Guests for July 3-4 Fireworks

I think that is fair that it is for resort guests only.
So, should the lobby at Wilderness Lodge be closed during the Holidays for non-Wilderness guests? This has always been a pet-peeve of mine. I think if you're paying to be on-site, you should be able to visit other resorts. We've stayed at Wilderness plenty of times and during the holidays. Never once did I worry that I couldn't sit in one of the chairs because of non-resort guests, but I'm sure there were plenty there. Wilderness is a "destination" during the holidays. So, it ticks me off that others support the closing of the Poly beach to non-Poly guests. Obviously, the Poly beach is a good deal larger than the Wilderness lobby.

If the Wilderness Lodge had a reported problem of resort guests not being able to sit in the lobby then yes I wouldn't have a problem with it being restricted.

Resort guests of that resort should have first priority over other visitors.

I think it was a logistics issue with the number of guests who might want to see fireworks from the beach on the 4th. Typically the demand isn't there except for the 4th of July and the December holidays, so I can see this being a temporary restriction.

The resorts do not allow guests from other resorts or non-guests to use the pools, and DVC members are also limited in pool-hopping restrictions. Some resorts share pools if they are sister resorts, like the Port Orleans resorts or Yacht/Beach/Beach Club Villas. But a Port Orleans guest cannot use Stormalong Bay.

But if you want to visit other resorts and walk around the public access areas like the lobby, shops, bars and restaurants, anybody can do so. That's always been accessible.

I personally do not care either way. It is Disney's decision.

However I had friends going to dinner there and they were confused because of postings on the Internet. So I called a friend that works at a Disney deluxe resort and he contacted one of the Polynesian managers and she said, that they would be giving out wristbands and they would give them to dinner guests as reported above. My friends did get one. They did report though the beach was open and they were not checking them, so she said she was not sure why they were given the wristband.

Also this same info was obviously shared to the Disney Moms forum.

So I guess if anyone is spreading rumors it is Disney. :confused3

We have not stayed at the Polynesian since 2004, so I don't know what has happened since then. I do know what happened when we did stay there and that is what I reported in the other thread.

Sammie, I don't think anyone thought you were lying. I certainly didn't. :)

Maybe it is Disney that starts the rumors and confusion every year.

In any event, another 4th goes by with rumors that people will be kept off the Poly beach and people stating that the rumors turned out to be false.

I guess that makes it "Will the MK admit MNSSHP people in at 4:00 or not?" season. :)
