MK Photo Shoot

I just wanted to let people know that the locations seem to be flexible. We just booked our date today and had asked about the locations. We weren't too keen on the carousel pictures and asked if we could use the wishing well or the Walt & Mickey statue instead of the carousel. They said we could do BOTH instead!! I was so excited!! This totally sold me on the idea to do this I just wanted others to know (who didn't know already) that usually all you need to do is ask

On a side note, has anyone else used either of these locations? What do you think? Thanks

That's great to know. I just booked mine too. I think it'll be great to have these pictures. Do you know which of the cosmetology people will come to do your hair/makeup that early? I'm scheduled for the 6am shoot.

Quick Question. Do you take the pictures in the day or night? I like the nighttime pictures with the castle lit up in the background. Or is that early morning??

The person you need to contact is Karen Chandler and her phone number is 407-827-5029. Although I just mentioned it to my coordinator and she set it all up.

The dark pictures are early morning shots. The two times you can choose from are 5:00am & 6:00am.

I don't know if I'm going to have cosmo come for the MK shoot. I might have them come for the wedding stuff and then just do my own hair in a more natural way for the MK shoot. I really don't see myself getting up at 3:30 or 4:00 am to get all done up on my honeymoon!

I don't know if you 'have' to ask in advance. I just did, because I really don't care for the carousel pictures and if that was the only option we were considering not doing it at all. Glad to know we had other options

In the past few months Disney has been very accomodating with locations b/c of the redo of Cinderella's Castle and you had the crane in your pictures. It never hurts to ask if you can get photos elsewhere, but outside of December, I would not say that you will be guaranteed any location other than the standard. Again check with Karen and your photographer the day of your shoot.

We had our photo shoot in September and were able to have pix at the Rose Garden where we got engaged and at the Haunted Mansion, our favorite ride. Our photographer was Ty, for both the MK shoot and the wedding. He was awesome! I do believe we had the option of locations because of the castle rehab. We were not able to go up in the castle because of the crane and the wishing well was blocked at the time- hope it is open for your photo shoot! We booked our photo shoot with Rosie, not Karen.

The photo shoots are only available in the morning- but the pix look like they are taken at night. It is cool to be in the park when it is closed and see the behind the scenes magic. The photographer picks you up in a van and you drive into the park through the parade entrance near Splash Mountain and into the castle hub area. We watched the castle show practice and saw workers cleaning and working on the castle rehab.

I had Lisa Pena from Lisa's Magical Weddings at our room at 4:00 am and we made our meeting in the lobby with Ty at 5:40- 10 minutes late. We were back at our room at 7:15ish.
