MK photo shoot- day of or day after?

For those of you who had a MK photo shoot, I'm debating day of vs day after ceremony. Can you tell me what you chose to do and why? I think I'd like to do the day of, but I'm concerned about how long of a day it will be and the potential to get my dress wrinkled and/or dirty before the ceremony.

We did ours two days after, cuz we sure as heck weren't getting up at 4:30am the day after our wedding. Even then, I was still wiped out for the rest of the day.

Some people choose to do the shoot the day of the wedding because then they only have to pay for hair and makeup once and don't need to pay for a bouquet refresher. However, I too would be worried about the dress—the bottom of mine was black after the MK shoot.

We did day after. We had a morning ceremony so really it wasn't an option anyway but we wanted to see each other at the WP and that would be IMHO a long horrible day. It's stressful (good and bad) enough already!

Sorry to just jump in- but how long does the MK shoot usually take- like how many hours?

It's about an hour for one park, plus 15ish minutes of driving to and from, depending on where your hotel is.

We chose the morning after our wedding. The upside: I didn't have to worry aboutrned off seeing my DH before the wedding reveal at the WP. The downside: you have to get up super early. Also, I had to make sure my hair and makeup didn't get damaged.

Your dress WILL get dirty/wet from the MK shoot. They hose down the sidewalks to clean the dirt from the day. The sun is not up long enough to dry the sidewalks, so they are wet. Also, if you go off the path (as some do, and I WISH I knew about before my shoot) you might have grass/mud.

In our photos, (around 7:30 am), we can still see some of the moisture on the ground that hasn't burned off.

Not quite sure if I understand you but I have to ask: you didn't wash your face again until after the photo shoot the next day? No judgment, just wasn't sure what I was reading there....

I had hair and make up come back or would just do it myself. It was drizzling the morning of our shoot, but apparently the fact that my dress was actually about an inch or so too short came in handy! What I did skip for myself was a bouquet refresh but I did get another bout for the hubby which was good because his was a dud the next morning.

We did our MK shoot 2 days after and am I GLAD we did! We had a noon wedding with 5:30 dinner and I was soo wiped by the end of the wedding day after getting up to start hair with my sister at about 7am that I couldn't imagine what I would have felt like if hair and makeup had arrived at 3am like they did for our shoot! (yes it took about 2 hours just to do my hair and makeup... I have A LOT of hair! )

We did ours 2 days after the wedding. We were wiped after the wedding (re: my husband was trashed at the wedding lol ), so this was perfect for us. we slept in the next day, enjoyed club level, and then met up with family. Then got back to the hotel, went to bed early because hair and makeup were coming in at 4am to get me ready for my 6am shoot.

We did ours 3 days after and we were happy because along with the concerns of the dress, I did not want my hubby to see me in the gown before the ceremony. Some people like it the day of, but for us it would have ruined the element of surprise during the ceremony. Another plus was we got to dress up again 3 days later with our wedding attire. Thats always fun! It was another day of magic!
