MK Parades - Avoiding Main Street ??

Does the train in the MK run during the parades? I think we'll be arriving at the park just as the parade is starting so I highly doubt we'll be able to get down Main Street. Would we be able to hop on the train to Frontierland to avoid the crowd?

Yes the train keeps running as far as I know, also a little hint for ya. If you skip the train once you get to the first shop on the left on Main Street, GO inside and you can walk through each store till you get up to the end of the street, then just make a left over towards Frontier land.

During the parade? No, no, no. The trains stop totally during the parade. This is because the floats drive over the train tracks. It wouldn't be very pretty if a train and a float crashed into each other. So if you're arriving just as the day parade started, you could probably find a spot somewhere on Main Street or anywhere further down because it starts in Frontierland. But if you're arriving just as the night parade starts, you'd be stuck because it starts on Main Street.

A few years ago, I was on Splash Mountain during the afternoon parade, and wanted to go to Tomorrowland. The CM directed me to the train (which was running then) and I just got off at Toontown and walked on the "back" path over to Tomorrowland.

I believe they still keep the trains running, and once there is a break in the parade, like when the floats stop to interact with the crowd, then they all sneak through to the next station. That happened when I was down in August. The daytime parade was going, and we were stopped for about 10 minutes. Then we started up again even though the parade was still running.

But I would recommend, if you need to get somewhere at a certain time, just cut though the shops. They are big enough to let plenty of people cut through.
