MK PARADE-Where to stand?

We are planning on arriving for our first trip on Sun Aug 28. We plan on checking in at Pop around 1-2pm and then heading to MK. The parade is listed @3pm that day. If we want to see it,what area should we try to get to ? Do the crowds usualy start loosening up on a Sun afternoon? Thanks

That's really cutting it close.. People will have been lined up for an hour or more already, but you could try standing by Pecos Bill's.. When you go into the park and up Main Street, veer to your left through Adventureland and it will bring you out on the corner near Pecos Bill's.. Be forewarned though - there is NO shade there and if the sun is out, it will be VERY hot! I would suggest hats for everyone in your party and have some cold drinks with you..

Wow -- that would be cutting it very close. People start lining up on Main Street about an hour before the parade starts. Traveling from Pop (especially if you are using Disney transportation) to MK can take nearly an hour if you consider how long it takes to get there plus going through the security check and the finger scan. If possible, I would try to catch the parade at another time during your stay.

Thanks for the advice! Do you think that would still be a good time to go to the park and maybe hop on the train to Toontown? Or would it be more magical to wait until Mainstreet is less crowded so we can walk to the castle? Would that be like 4 or 5pm? It will be me, DH, DD4 and DS2.

That would be an excellent time to hop the train to Toontown! Also, when you go upstairs in the train station, you'll have a beautiful magical view of the castle!!
