Hello All,

I just saw the pics of the awful walls put up in front of the Main Street Train Station and I have two questions.

1. How does this affect the parade route. I assume they just take an immediate left since you cant go around the circle anymore (my absolute favorite place to sit is on the curb looking at the Train Station, Oh well)

2. Are the Lockers even open?

Between this and finding out about HM yesterday, I'm not exactly doing the 40 day dance

The refurbishment has NO effect on either parade with the possible exception of reducing the standing space on that part of the sidewalk; and while there's been some shifting between Stroller rental and lockers, the lockers ARE still entirely accessible. No, I don't know what kind of shifting, I didn't pay attention.

Yes it does affect the parade. It can't go around the hub there like it used to so if it is coming down Main St. it makes a right by the Emporium.

The Main St. dancers use a bus instead of the trolley because of the work.

OK, my fiance and I are going for our honeymoon right after Thanksgiving, and it's his first trip ever - what's going on with the Train Station? And HM? Are these 2 things he won't get to experience? There's nothing like watching a nighttime parade at WDW sitting on the curb facing the train station. :(

The sidewalk construction is supposed to be done by the first week of Oct. So I don't think you will have a problem watching the parade in Nov. They will still be working on the train station.

HM will be open when you are there.

Thanks Safety Mom, You made my day about the sidewalk

Yes, Haunted Mansion will reopen on 11/15.

So, I'm confused, what exactly are they doing to the train station? And what exactly is affected? :confused3

My apologies. I only saw SpectroMagic, on which the routing was NOT affected over Labor Day weekend.

I knew nothing about this, can you still ride the train. I saw a sign on the wall that said train with an arrow. I hope so we leave in a week and this is all my son has been talking about is riding the train and seeing mickey for weeks. I need to prep him if there is no train.

I am also wondering if you can still ride the train. Hopefully the construction is done the first week of Oct. We get there on October 15. I looked at the sites about refurbishments going on dsurring our trip and the Train or Haunted Mansion were not listed so hopefully all will be back to normal when we get there ....keepin my fingers crossed.

Thanks as always for the photos Safetymom! That's the first I've seen of the train station walls. Sheesh, I had my fill of construction walls in February, LOL. It seemed like everything was walled off then! I guess I can put up a little more. :earboy2: I'd rather look at construction walls in WDW than stay home with no construction walls. ;)

What about the Haunted Mansion? Surely it will be open for Halloween!

The Haunted Mansion will be open in Oct. It is closing for 9 days in Nov.

Any ideas as to why? Do you think they are gearing up for a Nightmare Before Christmas decor? I'm just curious since we'll be there at Christmas and DH absolutely LOVES the HM.

Thanks...and ah, safteymom...you rock with those photos!

:wave2: I noticed a couple of you mentioned sitting on the curb facing the train station. We want to watch spectro from this area...so exactly where are you talking about? I've only watched it from frontierland. I'm picturing the curb in the center of the square that is parallel to the train station platform?

That's exactly the curb. My family and I plant ourselves there usually an hour to an hour and a half before parades (though the last one I saw was the farewell tour of Main St. Electrical parade :( ) - I can't really explain why it's such a great seat, it just is.

Thanks, safetymom, for the info.

Thanks! I was hoping we might get the holiday version like DL, but alas...we'll have fun still!
