Any opinions on what the crowds might be like on Sun VS Mon
at MK? Trying to figure what order to visit the parks, our first
day will be Sunday. I know the crowds are rather low in Sept.
but is there a big differance between Sun and Monday as far
as attendance goes.

We were there this past Sunday. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were totally dead, but we did feel the crowds swell on Sunday. Still not "Christmas Week" crowded, but wait times for the Fantasyland rides were 45 and 50 minutes. Finally, around noon time, they opened the Fast Pass machines.

Just FYI Sunday the 26th is the Triathalon, it may or may not affect the park attendance, but it will affect transportation (as a lot of roads are closed off) and it sometimes affects park opening time (based on when the athletes are clear of the parks).

Can you go into more detail about the Triathelon? I wil be there this weekend. Does it take place around the parks or in them?

Here is the race course:

The event will be a point to point triathlon, with a dual transition. The course consists of a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike ride, and a 10K run. The race will start at Disney’s ContemporaryResort at the North Beach, with the swim to bike transition staged under the shadows of the monorail beams. Triathletes will embark on a 40K bike ride that will end atEPCOT, the site of the bike to run transition. The entire 10K run will take place in and around EPCOT,culminating with a lap around the World Showcase Lagoon, past Spaceship Earth, to finish just outside the main entrance.

It starts at 7:30am. In the past MK has not been affected by it directly, other than transportation as some of the roads are closed to accomodate the athletes.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on this we will try to go to either
MGM or AK on Sun. Would have been nice to take the kids right
to MK on the first day, but if it will be less crowded it should work
out better.
