MK on Saturday - Crazy??

I know - never go to Magic Kingdom on a Saturday...but here is my deal. My husband and I have annual passes, we bought a 7 day pass for the 8 year old and our 2 year old does not need a pass. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge for a Friday and Saturday night (we arrive 6pm-ish Friday night), then we are switching over to BCV for the next 5 nights.

The initial plan was to have a "pool day" on Saturday, and have a more relaxing vacation. But I can't help myself! We are just a short boat ride from MK! :) What if we got there are opening, and left by lunch (11:30am)? THEN, we could have our "pool afternoon". :) I know MK is mobbed on Saturdays, but how bad in the morning like that?

Any thoughts on taming this theme park commando, or should I just go for it and see if my hubby blows a gasket!

If you're going during peak season, in the summer, you might want to rethink that and confine your MK visits to days when you have early morning entry.

But if you're going off-season, your idea is not a bad one -- especially if you sort of LOWER your expectations and make strict priorities about what you'll do and when you'll leave.

And get there early!!

Agree with Greg K.

Get there early and try to do the most popular rides first. Once it starts to get crowded, just try to enjoy the street entertainers or the rides with the shorter lines. USE FASTPASS too!!

If it gets to be too much, take that nice boat ride back to your resort!

I should have mentioned, we leave March 14, 2003 - 15 days! :)

And given the ages of our kids, Fantasyland is the first stop. So - the plan would be to spend 95% of the time there...then maybe hit Buzz or Goofy's barnstormer.

It is also on my schedule to go to MK Sunday morning for EE day. So - I will get my fix...but didn't know if I should go crazy by adding Saturday morning too! Is that just being too park crazy? (Only people on these boards understand the obsession!)

Thanks!

We just returned from Disney. We were there during Presidents Weekend. Against all rules we did MK on Saturday Night.

We started out with an early Dinner at the Castle. Went on a few rides, watched the Fireworks, then got seats for SpectroMagic. Was it crowded, yes but very manageable.

It was never at any time wall to wall people. We hung out in Tomorrowland, Liberty Square and Adventureland. We find these area's less crowded. I'm sure if we were around Main Street we would have answered you differently. We even went on a couple of rides after SpectroMagic. By the time we got to Main Street the crowds had thinned.
