MK on Mondays

We're arriving on a Sunday and want to go to the MK on Monday (our first theme park day). I read that Mondays are extremely busy, though. But, I would think that most people would arrive on Saturday and head to the MK on Sunday, then on Monday they'd be doing ST or EP. Am I wrong? Do most arrive on Sundays?

So, what to do? I really want the first park my son experiences to be the MK, but I'm scared it will be insanely busy on Monday (next week).

Most fly out on Saturdays or Sundays (which leaves Sunday and Monday their first real day at WDW). Mondays and weekends are busy.

What is ST (?) and EP (EPCOT)?

All I know that this last Mon, Oct 5 was extremely busy to me. Waits in Fantasy Land was 50 min long. We used fast pass a couple of times and that helped. I had not heard that about Monday's that might explain it.

ST is Disney Studios and EP is EPCOT. :)

We plan to be there at park opening, so hopefully we could get Fantasyland done before it gets very crowded. But in addition to Fantasyland, we want to do Buzz, Splash, Goofy, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and Haunted Mansion. I just hope that the waits wouldn't be crazy-busy for the rest of those. We'll definitely fastpass Splash and maybe Buzz.

I am thinking next Monday the 17th will be a zoo (incidentally we'll be at WDW next week too!). Sunday the 16th is a MNSSHP, so no Wishes or Spectro. Tuesday the park closes early and there is no evening entertainment. That leaves Monday and Wednesday that week for Wishes, Spectro and later hours. Monday's are considered a busy day at MK anyway and when you add the MNSSHP factor, October Monday's are probably really busy. On the bright side, there is Wishes and Spectro which are must do's in my book. I wouldn't say don't go, but I would get there early and utilize fastpass as much as possible. Then maybe head to your resort for rest or go to another park during the midday, probably AK or MGM since Epcot has EMH that day and will likely be crowed as well. Then you could go back to MK for Spectro and Wishes if you aren't too pooped. Good luck, I really understand your desire to have MK being the first park your son sees, I would do the same thing too!
