UG recommends it and now that EMH is Fri night at MK, has anyone dared to actually go to MK on a Saturday recently? I tried it twice in the past and swore that I'd never do it again...but you can never say never right?

Hi Laura,

Thanks for reading the book. We've recently posted new summer wait time data on our website, and those data continue to show that Saturday is slower than other days of the week. Look for the "crowd blog" link on our website's home page for all the details.

Sincerely,

Len

We were there on the Saturday before Father's Day in June. We got there about 9:30 and basically walked on almost everything. We were able to do Jungle Cruise, Pirates of Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, Mickey's Philharmagic, and Buzz lightyear by 1. From there we went to EPCOT and it was still walk-on on the little we did there. Went over to AK around 3 and still was walk on for It's tough to be a bug and the safari. We were disppointed that all the last shows at MGM were over by the time we got there after AK closed so went back to MK for the parade and Wishes by 8. People were already waiting for parade so we joined them. There were lots of people there for parade and fireworks and our only wait of the day was the line to get back on Monorail to get us back out to parking lot area. We had a great return to Disney day. I think it was the first time we were there in about 10 years. We definitely are going back to AK and MGM before the smmer is over.

We went to the Magic Kingdom early (first thing) on a Thursday and Saturday last month. Thursday was really quiet and we got to see Mickey's Phiharmagic with about six other people. Rode with no waits on Splash and Big Thunder. Took a few hours for the crowds to come.
On Saturday we made the mistake of going to Tomorrowland first. Seems like most people went that way. It was crowded and Space Mtn. was closed due to problems. We grabbed FP and rode Buzz a couple of times. Then we headed to Splash and Big Thunder. Again, this side was pretty quiet as was Fantasyland. We got to see Mickey's Philharmagic again but with far more people (not at all jammed though).
As on Thursday, it took several hours for the crowds to really get large at the MK on Saturday. I would definitely try it as long as you get there early. If it gets too crowded just hop over to another park.

We were there the Saturday before Easter, and it was one of the least crowded times of our trip. We walked onto everything with virtually no wait. Now we were only there from about 9 a.m. to noon (actually we ate at CP at 8:05). Then we went to Epcot for the rest of the day.

We went Sat June 11. It wasnt bad at all, not as good as Thurs June 9 but not bad. The pic in my signature is actually on that Sat, late afternoon. We will definately try the UG touring plans again :)

We were at MK the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We used the Tour Guide Mike touring plan and all went great. We rode rides constantly until our 1:45 PS at CRT. After lunch we used FP that we'd gotten before lunch, then left to swim. I guess a lot of people were there, but with a touring paln and FP, we didn't wait in any lines.

Everytime we have been on a Saturday it has been mobbed...we like to go to MK during the week - "usually" there are less wait times as well as people.

That is some serious park hopping.

One thing that Saturdays have going for them right now is that they are *after* the late-night EMH at the MK on Friday nights. I found Saturday morning in late June to be *very* uncrowded -- it took a good half-hour after opening for even Dumbo to form any line to speak of. :goodvibes

I also found it interesting that later in the day the FastPass return windows didn't get too far out on some of the attractions, which to me also indicates lower crowds. You could grab a FastPass at Big Thunder at 1:00pm with a 1:40 return time!

Thanks for all your replies! The two times I did Saturday mornings at MK were a few years ago, and I ended up hopping to Epcot around 11:00 because it was so nuts there! We did not buy the hopping option this year. I'm seriously considering going there Saturday morning... I'll let you know if I did it (or chickened out!:rolleyes2) when I get home...
