A friend said when she was down to WDW a little over a week ago, she saw a sign for a Meal Certificate Plus deal at the Magic Kingdom similar to the program at Animal Kingdom. Anyone else heard this?

Didn't see it when we were there last month. I hope they do something like it in the MK. We got the AK certificates on the last trip. For me, the ribs and a drink at Flame Tree would have been $11.49. For $.50 more I got an ice cream and a bottle of Poweraide. For the kids, the chicken nugget happy meal and apple juice in Dinoland would have cost more that he cost of the certificate - and the ice cream and drink were better than free. You can't beat that. If it gets people to drop money in the parks that they wouldn't have otherwise it is good for Disney as well, even if the profit margin is reduced a little.

The meal deal would be a great addition to MK. The last two times at AK we used- Dec and May. If you never buy an ice cream novelty or soda/water, then maybe it isn't worth the extra $$, but if they are something you routinely purchase anyway, the plan is the best value.

but if they are something you routinely purchase anyway
Before we even set foot in the AK our DD was telling us she wanted a Simba's Paw Print, so we are definitely in the 'anyway' category!

Chocolate chip cookies and ice cream is definitely a tough combination to beat, but on a hot, humid Florida day, I've got to go with the Itsakadoozie.

Personally, I wish they still had those Goofy ice cream bars with te caramel and chocolate. I didn't see those last month...............

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if they had the meal certs for MK???? I know I would definitely be one of the people using them. Wish they would include those awesome Dole Whips! Just tried them last Sunday, and they are FANTASTIC! So, I guess you could say that we, too are some of those who would be purchasing those things anyway!

Also, we try to drink alot of water while in the parks, and lets face it... Florida water is not so good, so the inclusion of the bottled drink is always welcome!

DisneyKidds...the last incarnation we saw of the Goofy bars was called the "100 Years of Magic" Bar....I guess they can't sell those now. My dh just loves them.

I know they never sold them at all the carts...but keep your eyes open for a new incarnation....though I wish they'd just make them Goofy bars again and be done with it!

My dd was begging me for a Mickey bar the other day! LOL I promised her one this weekend....hopefully we can find them at Downtown Disney or at Old Key West somewhere.
