MK July 3rd, how crowded??

We will be at WDW from July 2nd to July 10th. In relation to those days, how crowded do you think MK will be on the 3rd (in comparison)??

This is the only day for which we haven't decided our itnerary. We are going to each of the four theme parks and at least one water park during our stay on other days. I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to go to MK that morning for a few hours.

Unfortunately to say, being that it still is a Saturday and a holiday weekend I would bank on it being packed.

If you're going to go in the morning, you'll want to be there at opening but I'm betting it will still be VERY busy. My strategy would be to go for the FPs on the rides you want hit right as you get in.

I would expect MK to close at capacity at some point on July 3.

Wall-to-wall people sums it up. If crowds don't bother you, though, I'd say go. We've been there many times on July 3 (although this being a Sat. it'll be worse than usual) and have a had a great time. We take our time and don't let the crowds bother us. Have fun!

I'll have to disagree and say that it should be reasonable the first half of the day on Saturday July 3rd. Most people will be arriving for and leaving from their vacations that day. The locals won't be there because they will be going the next day for 4th of July fireworks. It's not an early entry day so you won't have to worry about extra crowds from that.

I'd say it's about as good as it's gonna get for a summer Saturday. Maybe I'll see you, cause I'll be there!

I don't agree. If history is any indication, people will arrive in droves on Friday afternoon and evening, having taken off Friday to get a head start on the four-day weekend. I think you're going to run into massive crowds in the morning.

But be sure to report back so that we know what the reality was!

We'll be there too!!! I don't think it will be too bad - but we'll be heading over to Animal Kingdom in the afternoon. We've been before on July 3 at Magic Kingdom, and the morning time wasn't too crowded!!!

Maybe we'll see you there!!!

We are arriving on the 3rd and only plan on hanging out at the resort and swimming. We are planning on early entry for about 3 hrs. on the 4th. Wish us ouck!

I agree with WDSearcher, especially since July 5th (Monday) is the "legal" holiday this year, since the 4th falls on a Sunday. I'm sure many people will take advantage of the long weekend.

Well, we're back now, and all I've got to say is...
I told you so!

Saturday July 3rd was the best day crowd wise for our entire trip (July 3rd - 9th). We spent the day at MK, and the crowds were very light. We didn't even get to the park before it opened - we were at the gates around 9:10AM. We were able to do a ton of attractions, even rode BTMRR 4 times (my Nephews new favorite). The longest wait we had was for Mickey's Philharmagic, and that's because we got in line right as a show had started.

The days following the 3rd were very crowded, even early in the AM.

I agree. We were at MK on the 3rd and the "crowds" were very manageable. It seemed more like a May crowd to me. No long waits for us!
